Triple C&D winner figures on a handy mark at present. Although he was second in a slowly run race over 3m at Market Rasen, he clearly failed to stay that far on his recent visit here.

Has won here four times over the minimum trip but has form over this trip too. Came from a long way back to score last month under this rider and a repeat cannot be ruled out.

Has a modest 2-35 record but he has run well enough on his last three starts to have a realistic chance here. This track will suit him better than Southwell, but he does not want the ground to get any faster.

Lost his confidence over fences but a spell of hurdling did the trick. Exploited a more attractive chase mark to score over C&D three weeks ago when given a patient ride. Probably has more to offer.

Made a successful chase debut at Market Rasen and would have finished closer at Kelso but for a bad mistake. Another mistake was more costly last time but he has every chance with a clear round.

Won twice under rules for Brendan Powell in 2013/2014, but has struggled in point-to-points and two low grade chases.

Forecasts

Ever So Much (9/5), Sleep In First (3/1), No Such Number (9/2), Oscar O'scar (13/2), Bocasien Desbois (8/1), Milans Well (16/1)

Verdict

Bocasien Desbois is open to further progress once his jumping improves and multiple winner Sleep In First arrives in rude health. No Such Number is well treated despite the concession of weight all round, but on this occasion EVER SO MUCH may have his measure. The nine-year-old has won nine races in his career and has shown he can back up good performances. His style of victory last time disguised how much he had in hand and he is worth following whilst on the crest of his current wave of enthusiasm
  1. Ever So Much
  2. No Such Number
  3. Bocasien Desbois
