Tongue-tied when winning 5f York Nursery in July, and coped well with heavy ground when doubling up at Musselburgh in October. Better than bare result when down the field on return at former track, and not dismissed out of hand.

Musselburgh winner early last season, and 10lb better off with Marnie James having finished fourth to that rival at York in July. Absent ten months before encouraging second on return at Catterick, and claims if building on that effort.

Winner of first three starts this season in handicaps, and up 15lb as a result. Still in good form based on latest fourth at Nottingham, and should be on the premises again.

Absolutely thriving for current yard, and brought up hat-trick of 5f handicap wins when scoring with something to spare at Catterick early this month. Still appeals as being ahead of the handicapper after latest 8lb rise.

Not the most consistent, but capitalised on falling mark when beating Palmer at Haydock last time dropped back in trip, and will make his presence felt if in the same form now.

Forecasts

Eeh Bah Gum (15/8), Quayside (3/1), Excellently Poised (7/2), Marnie James (4/1), Seen The Lyte (15/2)

Verdict

Quite a tight handicap despite the small field, but it's possible that the thriving EEH BAH GUM will keep pulling out enough to defy the handicapper, and he can make it four on the bounce. Quayside also won last time, but isn't the most consistent, and the selection may have more to fear from Excellently Poised, who shaped really well after a lengthy break last month.
  1. Eeh Bah Gum
  2. Excellently Poised
  3. Quayside
