Gelded over the winter, but still didn't look to be the most straightforward on handicap debut at Windsor last month (1m3.5f); that said, open to improvement and dangerous if allowed a soft lead.
Finished runner up in each of his last four starts (1m2f-1m4f), but hasn't necessarily done anything wrong; inching gradually up the weights but massively respected.
Both of his wins have come on the AW at Newcastle (7f-1m), and he races over further than ever before today; beaten just over 1L by a stablemate of The Lincoln Lawyer/Snax latest (1m3f), so Mark Johnston will have a good line.
High Chaparral filly, cost 17,000 gns as a yearling. Didn't appear to stay this trip on her seasonal return at Newmarket in May, but that was in a stronger race and she's still unexposed (handicap debut).
Forecasts
Braemar (4/5), The Lincoln Lawyer (5/2), Emerald Rocket (4/1), Snax (16/1)
A race which seemingly revolves around whether or not PJ McDonald can set the correct fractions from the front-end aboard the possibly quirky, yet still unexposed THE LINCOLN LAWYER. This track can suit a front runner on quick ground, and with Mark Johnston renowned for finding ample improvement within his horses, he's preferred to stablemate Snax and the likely market leader Braemar.
- The Lincoln Lawyer
- Braemar
