Won decisively over C&D (good) in August, when 9lb lower and later in the season recorded a career-best over this trip at Redcar from just 2lb lower than today. Coming along nicely again this term and be very competitive.

Scored over a similar trip for only win in this code (since won a maiden hurdle). Made debut for this trainer at York last week, having been purchase for £3,800, and needs significant improvement on that recent run to figure here.

Landed a Catterick maiden over this trip (good) in August. Cut in the ground would be a possible excuse for a couple of below-par efforts in handicaps since then. Twice held over hurdles since wind op, but interesting in this grade on good ground.

Put up several similar efforts from 1m-1m4f last year. Best run so far this term was on his Haydock reappearance. Not far off that in two runs since, but more needed to break his duck.

Yet to win over this far, but gets the trip. Generally consistent. Dead-heated in a 1m1f charity race at York on Saturday and if in the same form he had claims here.

C&D scorer on soft in 2015, from 5lb higher. Unable to make much of an impression on all but one occasion since the beginning of the 2017 season. Has dropped to a dangerous mark and is interesting back over his optimum trip.

Went close over C&D (good) last season before winning over this trip at Catterick (good to firm) in July. Another good effort back here last time and enters calculations in first-time cheekpieces.

Won a maiden over C&D by an eased-down 6L in September. No impact in handicaps since then and has too much on her plate on recent evidence.

Forecasts

Multellie (7/4), Doctor Cross (3/1), Swansway (6/1), Searching (6/1), Fire Leopard (9/1), X Rated (12/1), State Sovereignty (16/1), Flower Power (40/1)

Verdict

FIRE LEOPARD improved for her reappearance run last time out and that steady rise could reach a crescendo with another C&D win here, now that she drops slightly in grade. Swansway looks to be a potential danger, with X Rated also considered and a revival from Multellie also a possibility.
  1. Fire Leopard
  2. Swansway
  3. Multellie
