You can make fairly valid excuses for his three performances this season. Has dropped to a very dangerous mark now as a result and a market check is very much needed despite his wide draw.
Bit of an all or nothing front runner who is capable on his day. Remains 4lb higher than for his last win and not guaranteed any easy lead here so percentage call is to take him on once again here.
Run a couple of fair races already this summer but took a backward step at Carlisle (1m1f, good to firm) last time. Happy to forgive a bad run at that track and wouldn't be the biggest surprise were he to bounce back.
Only win to date came on Newcastle off a 3lb lower mark. Not so good on turf and likely to struggle off this mark in a competitive race.
Still a maiden after seven starts but has run some decent races. Backed into favourtism at Musselburgh (1m1f, good to firm) last time but couldn't sustain his effort. This track suits his run style and a player for sure.
Three very tame efforts in maidens so far all over further than this. Drops back in trip for handicap debut and has a nice pedigree. More can be expected and any market support is likely to be significant.
Now 16lb lower than for his last win but form this season has really tailed off. Rider claims a valuable 5lbs but with yard having a quiet spell is probably best watched for now.
Showed very little on debut for this yard here last week and it's hard to enthuse based on that. Needs to do plenty more to be involved.
Hold-up performer who has won just once in 36 starts. Has now dropped to a career low mark and whilst you can make a clear case for him from a handicapping perspective, he's hard to fancy all the same.
Showed his best pice of form for some time on debut for this yard at Musselburgh (7f, good to firm) last time. Steps up in trip here and possible he could go well again but hard to be confident.
Cheekpieces seem to have a positive effect at Carlisle (1m1f, good) when fourth of 11 last time. Still beaten a fair way though and improvement needed to take this.
Struggled on handicap debut at Southwell on the Fibresand (7f) on his last start. Interesting now going up in trip on decent ground for shrewd yard and market check very much needed.

Forecasts
Knight In Armour (3/1), Captain Peaky (9/2), John Caesar (7/1), Sentimental Gent (8/1), Prediction (8/1), Highwayman (10/1), Jimmy Geronimo (12/1), Power Sail (12/1), My Brother Mike (12/1), Crazy Tornado (16/1), New Abbey Angel (20/1), Polar Forest (20/1), Riponian (20/1), Enemy Of The State (25/1)
Plenty of these have been struggling for form of late and there are no particularly solid options. John Ceaser is more than capable at this level and he would be a player if returning to form. Sentimental Gent is of interest off a lowly mark going in up trip for his shrewd yard. Knight In Armour probably has the most consistent profile and is very much respected. We will take a chance on JIMMY GERONIMO making a winning handicap debut. He's bred to be better than his opening mark and can show improved form now at this level.
- Jimmy Geronimo
- Knight In Armour
- Sentimental Gent
