Unraced eighth foal by Dark Angel who cost 68,000 gns as a yearling. Half-sister to six winners up to 1m including Master Of War (6f-1m) and Muaamara (6f). Market vibes helpful; well drawn.
Bred to appreciate a test of stamina (dam a 1m4f-1m6f winner), and has struggled in two starts so far (5f-6f); will find other more suitable options further down the line.
Fast Company filly who cost 42,000 gns at the breeze-ups, but looked badly in need of the experience on debut at Wetherby earlier this month (5.5f); improvement probable, but required.
Cost 16,000 gns as a yearling and was thrown in deep at Listed level on debut at York in May (5f Marygate); never involved there, but this rates as a much more realistic assignment; place prospects.
Exceed And Excel filly (48,000 gns vendor yearling). Unraced ninth foal who is a half-sister to four winner including Seamless (1m2f) and Hollydaze (7f); might ideally require further than 6f.
Started at 100/1 and well beaten on debut at Nottingham (6f good to firm) in late May; expected to learn/improve with further racing, but not considered today.
Unraced sixth foal by Sepoy out of the 1m Listed winner Vista Bella. Half-sister to various winners including Lake District (7f) and Nijah (7.7f); one to consider despite the draw for a stable knocking in the juvenile winners with regularity.
Has plenty of experience, but steps up beyond 5f for the first time here. Beaten approximately 3½L by a fairly useful sort (Queen Of Bermuda) on debut at this track in mid May.
Unraced fourth foal by Slade Power out of the 7f/1m winner Blue Angel. Cost €80,000 as a yearling, and is a half-sister to winners Viren's Army (7f-1m2f) and Eagle Creek (1m); well drawn.
Forecasts
Evangeline Samos (7/2), Prairie Spy (9/2), Ascended (9/2), Samantha James (5/1), War Tigress (11/2), Double Quick (7/1), Jasmine B (14/1), Bandola (50/1), Lady Rouda (50/1)
A race which looks set to go the way of a newcomer, as those with previous experience don't exactly set the bar overly high. Prairie Spy ticks plenty of boxes for Mark Johnston, but she might be forced to give best to the better drawn fillies Ascended (William Haggas) and WAR TIGRESS (Richard Fahey). The latter named is a token choice without being privy to the early market moves; which should most likely be heeded.
- War Tigress
- Ascended
- Evangeline Samos
