C&D winner here but that win dates back to May 2015 Out of sorts this season in two starts at Leopardstown and others hold stronger profiles.

Has looked in good form in two starts this term finishing runner-up on both occasions at Navan and the Curragh. Has shaped like the step up to 7f would suit and one for the shortlist.

Will possibly need the run here on his first start since finishing down the field in a 10-runner contest on the beach at Laytown. Winner over this trip at the Galway festival earlier and worth a market check all the same.

Will come on for the run when fourth of 12 beaten in a bunch finish in a Listowel handicap over an extended 6f earlier this month on good ground. More to come from the colt.

Winner of a Gowran Park maiden over 1m on turf debut last month. Beaten since in the Group 3 Gallinule stakes and worthy of consideration dropping back in trip and grade.

12/1
Ridden clear approaching the final furlong keeping on well to land the spoils at the fifth time of asking on seasonal debut last month at Navan over an extended 5f. Step up to 7f is interesting but the filly looks more than capable.

Forecasts

Sirjack Thomas (4/6), St Brelades Bay (11/2), Not A Bad Oul Day (6/1), Irish Minister (7/1), Betsey Trotter (12/1), Knockmaole Boy (25/1)

Verdict

Trainer Johnny Murtagh appears to have found an ideal opening for SIRJACK THOMAS to get back to winning ways on just his second start for the yard with the colt a potentially interesting acquisition for Qatar Racing. The Jessica Harrington-trained St Brelades Bay is likely to improve on a couple of promising runs last month at Navan and the Curragh and can be the alternative option here with the Frank Gillespie-owned Betsey Trotter hitting the frame.
  1. Sirjack Thomas
  2. St Brelades Bay
  3. Betsey Trotter
