Second to course specialist Bollin Ted over C&D last year (beaten 7L) she's 14lb better off for that beating. She bounced back to form last time at Thirsk (1m4f, good) with her reappearance run having done her good and should run her race here.

C&D form reads 1151 (his one defeat came at the hands of Bollin Ted) and he resumed winning ways here last time (seen to good effect from the front). Avenged the defeat by Bollin Ted last time and there should be little between them here.

Needs no introduction here (4/8 over C&D; out the first four once) and has form which ties in with a few of these. His latest win here came on his penultimate start before he was possibly beaten by the run of the race last time by Bit Of A Quirke.

Form took an upward path when switched to handicaps failing on his debut in that sphere but successful on his second start in that discipline on the AW over 1m. Up 7lb for that win he still looks short of the finished article; needs a strong gallop.

Ran poorly off a break on turf last time and is generally a more solid proposition on the AW (went with little fluency last time). Form around here reads poorly (460907) and others make more appeal despite the fact he's 10lb below last winning mark.

Yet to win a race (0/8) but has run with credit on a couple of occasions around here in two of her last three starts. Well placed when coming 4th here last time but needs some more help from the handicapper to break her maiden.

His "win" here last year came courtesy of a dead-heat in a 7f seller after running in two claimers since joining this yard last year. Campaigned in handicaps since that success he ran better last time out (trip stretched him); chance off this mark.

A winner over this trip last year at Pontefract on his second handicap start (travelled strongly) he ran no more than creditably after that. Back from a long break recently at Carlisle to the gambled on Zihaam he should be sharper for that run.

Attracted support on his return (Ayr, 1m) after 6 months off and showed plenty to work on; duly confirmed that promise last time at Carlisle (1m1f). Won under a hands-and-heels ride (same rider here) and raised 2lb; trip at the limit of his best.

On the whole a poor maiden who has run twice this year without his usual headgear and offered little on his return after 7 months off. Held up last time at Carlisle over 1m1f he was beaten a long way from home.

Far better known for his Fibresand exploits (15/122) his recent turf efforts have been underwhelming and his best days look behind him now. Well beaten at Yarmouth recently over 1m and tends to get well behind.

Verdict

Only a low-grade affair to end the card but one that sees a clash between a couple of course specialists. Bit Of A Quirke came here fit from hurdling last time and got first run on BOLLIN TED when the course really favoured those ridden from the front and he’s sure to give it a good go again. Preference though is for Tim Easterby’s gelding who is really seen at his best around here with the stable in terrific form. Both Mr C and Palindrome have run well at Carlisle of late with the latter having finally broken his maiden over a slightly shorter trip and the former having run into a gambled on winner. Clenymistra should run her usual sound race and enters the mix with Big Bad Lol.
