Just the one win to his name when with Andrew Balding a maiden on the AW over 7f although he ran with a credit in a couple of handicaps. Just had the one run for his new yard (now gelded) and looked to need the run on the AW; had wind surgery since.

Scored in three handicaps last year at up to 1m1f always finding a lot for pressure from off the pace (ran respectably after). Dipped below his last winning mark when winning at Doncaster (1m); might not be suited by this course with his run style.

Apart from one run has performed consistently well since joining this yard with a C&D win her best show so far (did well to reel back in a front-runner). Failed to complete the hat-trick off a revised mark (73); returns from a long break now.

Fair handicapper who relished the soft ground when winning fresh last year over 1m and ran with credit thereafter despite not winning again. Turned in a decent reappearance (bumped into a big improver) and runs off the same mark here.

Put his experience to good use when taking a 7f minor event on the AW at the end of his juvenile year. Ran poorly on his only outing since and his first for this new yard and never a threat and can only be watched in his second handicap.

Back from a long break when taking third here last time still showing signs of inexperience bit looking better suited by his first try over 7f. Finished his race off well and looks capable of better for a trainer that does well here; handicap debut.

Winner on his debut as a juvenile (beat Weellan handicap winner since); only seen twice since running no sort of race on his only three-year-old start. That was a particularly laboured effort; cheekpieces are quickly removed for handicap debut.

Switched to turf for his debut/qualifying run this year his performance was an eventful one. Hampered when challenging but then hanging will stay further and remains with potential (plenty to learn); cheekpieces now worn first time (handicap debut).

Ran her best race dropped into a 0-65 for the first time against her own age group last time over slightly shorter here. Now returns of the same mark but back up in grade against her elders and others make more appeal.

Never quite got going as a juvenile and the same could be said of his form this year where he's often looked hard work (less so with cheekpieces on last time). Bred to be better than this mark his previous run here was poor; drops in trip now.

Verdict

Not an easy event to solve by any means with no outstanding candidate. Magnetic Boundary ran a promising race last time out at Leicester despite looking very green and a pair of cheekpieces may help keep him straight on his handicap debut. Likewise his fellow three-year-old and handicap debutante Rampant Lion should also be suited by this test although he is drawn a little wider than ideal. Pantera Negra was unfortunate not to complete a hat-trick last year and has won over C&D although she may need this run and the wide draw hardly helps. KEEPUP KEVIN ran into an improver last time and may get the run of this and that gives him the edge over Brother McGonagall who comes from off the pace.
