Teofilo gelding who is a half-brother to plenty of winners including Gold City and Clear Water, he showed ability despite inexperience when third of 10 at Lingfield (1m2f, AW) on debut. Capable of improving.

Dark Angel colt, last of 12 in maiden at Newmarket (7f, good to soft) on debut 10 months ago. Significantly up in trip for return and blinkers reached for.

Oasis Dream colt is a brother to smart winner up to 6f Justineo and half-brother to several winners over further, looks a likely sort on paper ahead of debut.

Planteur gelding whose dam was a maiden (stayed 1m), half-sister to winner up to 8.5f Homage. Doesn't make major appeal on paper.

Cost $100,000 as a yearling, nicely bred son of US sire Medaglia D'Oro. Promising start when fourth on AW at Wolverhampton in April but didn't build on that Newmarket (1m2f, good to firm) in a maiden since. Questions to answer after that run.

Beaten a long way on both her starts to date over 7f at Newmarket and Lingfield (good to firm/ good). Steps up in trip today but likely that handicaps will see her in a better light after this.

Forecasts

Rock Eagle (1/4), Department Of War (7/2), Fitzsimmons (9/2), Jaquar (7/1), Imperial Court (14/1), Hidden Depths (20/1), Laughing Stranger (33/1), Willingforshilling (40/1), Las Lomas Blanca (66/1)

Verdict

ROCK EAGLE made a winning start over C&D in April and essentially build on that when second since at Salisbury. Ralph Beckett's Teofilo gelding appears to have plenty going for him and can grab this prize. The Coolmore-owned Department Of War has been disappointing since opening his account for time out at Nottingham but should not be cast aside yet. Fitzsimmons can build on a Lingfield third on debut and take a hand while newcomer Jaquar needs a close look.
