Leicester winner on heavy going over this trip in April, went close here on previous outing last month over this trip having been denied a clear run at a crucial time. Competitive from same mark.

Denied hat-trick last time at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) in a stronger race, likely can get a lot closer this evening in this class.

Her only win for this yard came here over shorter (5f) when slightly dropped in grade off this mark. Didn't quite run up to that mark for the rest of that year and was given a tough start to this year's campaign in a 5f Listed contest at Bath.

Held in four starts since joining this yard including over C&D (good) penultimate start. Handicap mark is falling as a result and ran well since on the AW at Kempton (7f) when close third.

In and out form but has won 4-12 on the AW since the turn of the year, generally does better in that sphere and mark looks plenty high returning to turf. Won a Catterick claimer last summer off 65.

Not won for nearly two years not showed very little enthusiasm when well beaten at Doncaster and Newmarket since her return. Needs to bounce back.

Showed his liking for a bit of cut in the ground again when losing on the nod at Chepstow (6f, soft) earlier this month. This is a tougher race and forecast conditions aren't his thing, seemingly.

Paco Boy gelding is just 2-20 in career to date, though he won over 5f here last summer in this grade (rated 66). Tougher ask now, having struggled on turf since AW win at Wolverhampton (5f) in the spring.

Not the most consistent but did come good at Chelmsford in December when getting a good pace to settle off. Behind a couple of these over C&D last month on sole outing since, perhaps fitter this time but 0-10 on turf.

Made winning return from 329-day off when sticking on gamely at Brighton (6f, good to firm) late last month. Raised 3lb and tackles a better race now, but entitled to be in the firing line.

Not won on turf since 2015 and pair of below-par efforts at Bath and Goodwood this season. On a career low mark but his lack of consistency makes him hard to fancy.

Forecasts

Six Strings (9/4), Bahamian Dollar (3/1), Titus Secret (7/1), Englishman (8/1), Blitz (10/1), Cappananty Con (12/1), Oh So Sassy (14/1), Liberatum (16/1), Anonymous John (20/1), Field of Vision (20/1), Bernie's Boy (33/1)

Verdict

Three-time C&D winner ENGLISHMAN was unsurprisingly halted in his hat-trick bid at Newmarket last time out in a much stronger grade. He's back in calmer waters now and is likely to go well again around this track. Bahamian Dollar shaped with promise here last time despite not getting a lot of breaks in running and should figure while Brighton winner Titus Secret is unlikely to give in easily. Six Strings produced a better effort last time on the AW and needs a close look in the betting.
