Tends to go very well around here having won four times at the track including this race last year. Has looked in need of the run on his two starts so far this year. Dropped 2lbs for his latest run here over C&D and should be cherry ripe now.
First signs for a while that he may be on the way back at Uttoxeter (2m4f, good) last month having finished fourth of 17 (5L behind Viconte Du Noyer). Has a little bit to find with that rival but 3lb lower than last win and not discounted.
Confidence seems to have gone a little bit of late. Still going well when falling here over C&D two starts back before being well beaten by a couple of these last time at Uttoxeter. Likes it here though so a return to form would not surprise.
Had been badly out of form since switching to this yard before a much improved effort at Uttoxeter last time when having a few of these behind. Nudged up 2lbs for that effort but still well handicapped on old form and should go very close.
Front runner who loves it around here having won a bumper, hurdle and chase at this venue. Only had one start in a handicap so far and has been given a break to freshen him up. Likely to make them all go here and could get a few of them at it.
Back down to only 1lb above his last winning mark so no problems from a handicapping point of view. Form has tailed of somewhat of late however so needs to bounce back here in what is a competitive heat. Capable of better on a going day.
Very in-and-out performer and never too sure how he's going to act. Beaten a very long way at Southwell (2m4½f, good) last time. Dropped to last winning mark but is in a hot little contest here and a similar story is more than likely.
Shaped with more encouragement over C&D last time without ever really threatening to win. Dropped below last winning mark and should be cherry ripe now. This is a hot little contest though and maybe set for a minor role once more.
Forecasts
Days Of Heaven (3/1), Viconte Du Noyer (7/2), Bagad Bihoue (9/2), Alcala (9/2), Henryville (7/1), Dream Bolt (11/1), Deauville Dancer (12/1), Notarfbad (16/1)
Paul Nicholls holds a pretty strong hand here with last years winner Alcala and BAGAD BIHOUE both seemingly with excellent chances. The former is 6lbs higher in the weights than when winning this last year but is respected. The latter has been given a break and goes really well here. There is every chance he will make the running and get them all on the stretch. Viconte Du Noyer had a few of these behind at Uttoxeter last time and is a big danger if backing that effort up. Whilst Days Of Heaven is on a nice mark now and is also a player in a tight heat.
- Bagad Bihoue
- Viconte Du Noyer
- Alcala
