Proved rather quirky on the Flat (possibly stalls related), but whilst still a maiden he's shown ability over 6f-1m (80-rated). Stamina taken on trust on hurdles debut, and could only be advised as an in-running possible.

4/5
Left William Haggas at the end of a three-race juvenile campaign, making just one start on the level for this trainer in 2018 (1m2f). Stamina to prove on hurdles debut, but strongly considered given his connections; 67-rated on the Flat.

Raced enthusiastically before weakening in the opening juvenile hurdle of the season at Hexham recently (finished third of six), and plenty to find with runner up Weinburg accordingly.

Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Thomas Dowson(3)| T: P A Kirby| BF
20/1
Started 2/1f, but beaten in excess of 20L when finishing fourth to Lord Caprio at Hexham recently (Weinburg second); rated just 51 on the Flat and has plenty to find on that limited hurdling evidence.

9/1
Rated 58 on the Flat, but not shown much in two starts for this trainer since joining the ranks from Mark Johnston. Stamina on the dam side which suggests he'll stay 2m over hurdles (debut), but others make more appeal.

Weinberg13
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr
3/1
Poor on the Flat (54-rated), but made a fair start over hurdles at Hexham earlier this month, finishing a clear second best to Lord Caprio (a couple of today's rivals in behind); respected under similar conditions tonight.

Forecasts

Cracker Factory (4/5), Weinberg (3/1), Chief Justice (7/1), The Jungle Vip (9/1), Enforcement (14/1), Jaycols Star (20/1)

Verdict

Not the easiest race to assess, which basically boils down to an interpretation of the worth of the opening juvenile hurdle of the season at Hexham when considering those with hurdles experience. There's no reason why Enforcement or Jaycols Star will improve past Weinburg, but on balance that looked a particularly weak race. Chief Justice has his issues and couldn't be advised until the race is well underway, so the vote goes to the Alan King-trained debutante CRACKER FACTORY.
  1. Cracker Factory
  2. Weinberg
  3. Chief Justice
