Rock Of Gibraltar gelding who didn't show a lot on debut over extended-mile at Windsor on debut 40 days ago and will need to step up on that now dropping back in distance.

£16,000 yearling, Harbour Watch gelding whose dam was a two-year-old 5f winner. Yard been relatively quiet, perhaps best watched on debut.

Excelebration gelding bought for €38,000 as a yearling in September 2016. Just the two runs behind him, finishing around 7L fifth over C&D in a novice stakes last time, can improve.

Sunday Break gelding cost €38,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to six winners including a French Group One winner over 1m. Well beaten over this trip on AW here on New Year's Eve, off since. More needed.

5/2
Swiss Spirit colt, twice went close last summer on turf over 6f at Yarmouth and here (both good to soft). Also gone well on the AW. Was poor when last spotted in November but wind operation since and pick of form is standout in this line-up.

10/1
Bahamian Bounty gelding who cost £115,000 guineas as a yearling. Finished fifth of 10 in maiden at Doncaster (7f, good to soft) in October on debut, off since. Likely capable of much better.

Oliver Reedt129
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: S M Levey| T: R Hannon| OR:  80
9/4
Footstepsinthesand colt showed promise last season and again when decent second in Newbury handicap (7f, good to soft) in April. Needs forgiving a poor show at Ascot last time, but likely that wasn't his true running. Tongue tie added.

Horse silk
33/1
Muhtathir filly who doesn't make any strong appeal on breeding and will potentially be best watched on this first outing.

Horse silk
12/1
Filly was a promising fifth of 12 over 7f on Kempton's AW (beaten 2¾L) on debut in September. Had only one outing over same C&D for Michael Madgwick since and back with original handler. Improvement needed.
14
(1)
Horse silk
66/1
Dick Turpin filly out of a mare who won four times over 1m2f including on soft ground. Fifth of seven in minor event at Goodwood (7f, soft) on debut eight months ago.
15
(8)
Horse silk
66/1
Home-bred daughter of Halling and a half-sister to moderate maiden Lazizah. Went off a 200/1 chance at Newbury (7f, good to firm) in novice stakes in September and beaten more than 17L. Watching brief seems safest.
16
(6)
Horse silk
33/1
Rip Van Winkle filly. Dam winner up to 6f out of useful winner up to 7f Presto Vento. Likely sort on debut for yard in decent for (17% strike rate from 24 runners lately).
17
(3)
Horse silk
15/2
Canford Cliffs filly. Half-sister to two-year-old 6f winner Shaka Zulu and two-year-old 7f/1m winner Under Control. No surprise to see her play a forward role on debut.

Forecasts

Oliver Reed (9/4), Manthoor (5/2), Excelleration (6/1), Sweet Nature (15/2), Mukhaater (10/1), Poyle Charlotte (12/1), Cuban Spirit (12/1), Taoiseach (12/1), Antiguan Rock (22/1), Sweet Dreams (33/1), Lucky Kisses (33/1), Zahirah (66/1), Sugar Plum Fairy (66/1), Tilsworth Rose (66/1), Sky Bandit (66/1), French Cricket (66/1), Shanakill Star (100/1)

Verdict

It may be wise to forget Oliver Reed's Ascot run last time, he would have fair claims here on his previous Newbury attempt and is respected as such. MANTHOOR also showed some clever form last term however and returns having had wind surgery, he shouldn't be far away. Mukhaater is a lurking improver while newcomers Sweet Dreams and Sweet Nature are both worth of scrutiny.
  1. Manthoor
  2. Oliver Reed
  3. Sweet Dreams
