Impressive and unexpected winner at Newmarket on turf debut but below that when well held in Listed Derby Trial. First run in handicaps and probably needs to improve off this mark.

Found significant improvement when meeting quicker ground last time. Looks a good prospect now on handicap debut for a stable going well. Should be competitive.

Had shown decent ability in three initial starts on the AW but was disappointing on his handicap and turf debut. Not one to give up on yet for powerful stable but needs to take another step forwards.

Overcame a slow start to win on her first run in a handicap. 6lb rise can be overcome as she's got plenty of progress left in her and bred to appreciate this further test of stamina. Looks a leading contender.

Made winning debut at Newcastle on the AW in March and not exactly built on that since and was well held at Newmarket last month on handicap bow. More needed. Also entered at Haydock on Friday.

Sea Youmzain (7/4), Podemos (9/4), Night Story (5/1), Star Of Southwold (6/1), Jack Regan (6/1), Morning Skye (7/1)

Verdict

A small field where all have some sort of chance in what should be a competitive contest. There was a lot to like about the win of JACK REGAN for his new trainer and be backed it up with a good run last time with more to come at this trip. Likewise Podemos looks on a fair mark on handicap debut and has plenty of upside. Sea Youmzain idled late when winning on handicap debut and was worth more than the winning margin.
  1. Jack Regan
  2. Podemos
  3. Sea Youmzain
