Failed to make all at Doncaster when fourth of 11 and shaped as if amiss on return at Leicester when last of 16 last time. Risky proposition at present.
Some promise in several of his runs as a two-year-old and ought to come on for his reappearance over C&D last month. Has place claims if the first-time cheekpieces have the desired effect.
Yet to win in six starts and placed just once in those efforts. While he was disappointing last time, his best effort came on a quick surface so not discounted if the rain stays away.
Best effort came when runner-up at Nottingham at the end of 2017. Needs to learn to settle better in his races, as seen when fading in the closing stages at Chepstow last time and his better form has been with cut in the ground so he may want rain.
Looks a shade unlucky to still be a maiden and some hope in his pedigree that he will appreciate the step up in trip here. Better ground will suit and can't be ruled out if the rain stays away.
Well beaten on all four starts including handicap debut at Haydock last time out. Prominent in the market that day but seemingly has plenty to find on form off the same mark as last time.
Ran well in two AW starts towards the end of last year but not beaten a rival home in his two starts on turf, beaten a combined 102L. Will need to take a big step forward from his comeback run at Nottingham to have any sort of say.
A winner at Ffos Las in August but has failed to build on that in four runs since. May want a return to more testing conditions than he will get here to be of interest again.
Showed little as a two-year-old but has shaped with a little more promise in two runs this year. Has the potential to improve for the better ground here and step up in trip should suit. Interesting enough runner in this field.
Forecasts
Danzay (4/1), Robinson Crusoe (9/2), Marble Bar (9/2), Unbridled Spirit (9/2), Cheeky Rascal (13/2), Livingstones Quest (7/1), I'm A Star (20/1), Compulsive (25/1), Sky Rocket (33/1)
Livingstones Quest is the only runner to have visited the winner's enclosure in this field but he gets very different ground conditions again today. DANZAY is perhaps a more interesting runner for Mark Johnston, a trainer who does well at this course. He's shown ability in several of his starts and he could be the one to side with if the rain stays away. Cheeky Rascal may improve for the fitting of first-time headgear while stablemate Robinson Crusoe is another who will want the rain to stay away.
