Twice a winner in last four starts at this trip, both those victories coming with plenty of cut in the ground and he seemed to find this new high mark a bit too much at Hamilton last time. Needs more now, and the ground not to dry out either.
Back to form when an easy winner at Southwell (over 7f) last time out, coming clear in the closing stages and this step up to a mile shouldn't bother him. Turf mark 7lb lower than that win so well treated if he can transfer that form to turf today.
Mark already in freefall after a series of moderate/poor efforts over longer trips than today's, but hard to see why the drop back to a mile is going to make a lot of difference. Can't really make a solid case for him.
Only beaten a head over this C&D last August and now 3lb lower, so every chance from a handicapping point of view, but some dreadful efforts this term so far and he appears to have lost the plot. Hopes pinned on a revival back at this track.
Winner at Hamilton last July but hasn't repeated that run in four subsequent starts, and was well below par last time. Excuses running thin now and he's becoming hard to make any case in current frame of mind.
Just the three wins in 43 starts, which rather tells its own story, but the case for the defence is that he tends to run his race more often than not and he switches back to turf on a lower mark than the all-weather. Trip fine, so may go okay.

Florencio (2/1), Ghayyar (5/2), Mustaqbal (9/2), Energia Flavio (8/1), Dasheen (8/1), Amy Blair (9/1), Heir of Excitement (9/1)
None of these come here with a solid profile, and some caution is advised. FLORENCIO gets the vote in the hope he can transfer his sand form to turf, because if he can, he's very well treated here, and may be able to follow up. Energia Flavio has a similar profile and tends to run his race, so might pick some place money up. Mustaqbal looks weighted to the hilt but is at least in some form, and could go better today.
