Worrying her worst run came on sole AW start. However the way she quickened to hit the front last time was impressive. That form has holes in it, but this is no more competitive.
Cost 320,000 guineas as a yearling and has winners in her pedigree, including AW, but wasn't fancied and never competitive on debut.

£36,000 yearling by Foxwedge and half-brother to a few winners including the useful Justonefortheroad. Yard not known for debut winners and the fitting of a hood suggests he might be a bit keen.

Bred to want a lot further than this. Probably outran her 80/1 odds on debut when having traffic problems. Yard are quiet but the jockey booking is a positive sign.

Archipenko half-sister to a few winners, including the Listed-placed Realize. Showed little signs of progress between races one and two and handicaps will be an option next time.

Third in what looked an ordinary maiden last time where the field finished in a heap. Much more required here.
Bated Breath half-sister to the useful pair Folkswood and Good Omen. Not highly tried on debut if the market suggests she is ready and with the yard's horses looking more forward.

Modest ability in two starts to date and most recently in a modest looking race at Thirsk. Hood retained.

Well-bred filly who took time to get the hang of things on her debut a year ago. Showed enough in the closing stages to suggest she learned something and the extra furlong here helps. Worth noting in the market.

Has failed to live up to market expectations on either start and now makes her AW debut. Could be too early to write her off.

Forecasts

Azpeitia (7/4), Passionate Love (9/4), Bedwyyah (9/2), Lady Safeara (10/1), Private Cashier (12/1), Special Mission (12/1), The Chemist (20/1), Delicate Footsteps (25/1), Hilight (33/1), Herringswell (40/1), Darling Darcy (50/1)

Verdict

The newcomer Passionate Love and the once-raced Special Mission are two to monitor in early trading in a race that may take little winning. AZPEITIA sets the standard on two turf runs. Her worst performance came on Polytrack but there may have been other factors in force given her trainer brings her to a course where he does well. Herringswell outran her odds when performing better than her final position suggested on her Newmarket debut.
  1. Azpeitia
  2. Passionate Love
  3. Special Mission
