Looked coltish in the preliminaries and raced with his head to one side before folding tamely last time. That was disappointing following his two earlier efforts and hardly exudes confidence.

By Dansili out of the Australian Listed winning mare Dysphonia (6f+-1m) and half-brother to the Nell Gwyn winner Soliloquy. Stable had their first juvenile winner on Saturday and he has little to find on his debut run to earn them a second

Son of Zoffany out of a winning sprinter fetched 68,000 gns as a yearling. Far too green to be judged on his debut effort and the market will be the best guide here.

Charm Spirit colt that cost 42,000 gns as a yearling. Sixth foal and half-brother to winners Ben Hall, Dreamy Gal and Freeman. Yard's horses improve for a run and he promises to be no exception.

Dark Angel colt, cost 45,000 gns as a foal and £67,000 as a yearling. Dam a sprint winner and half-sister to six more. 20/1 and green on Goodwood debut but there were clear signs of ability and he has each-way claims in a race lacking depth.

Slowly away on both starts and well-beaten. In an even stronger heat this time and looks easy to oppose.

Purchased for £25,000 at Goffs Doncaster last August, half-brother to winner Sauchiehall Street (over 1m and 1m4f). Last of eleven on debut and that leaves him with an awful lot to find.
Australia filly who cost €40,000 as a yearling with the dam a winner at up to a mile (two-year-old sprint winner). Bred to want further than this and so it proved on debut, but that run is sure to bring her on.

Forecasts

Burj (1/2), Aussie View (11/4), Pesci (6/1), Barend Boy (7/1), Pirate (10/1), Mayfair Spirit (16/1), Jaayiz (50/1), So Hi Class (50/1), Brother Bentley (50/1), Rocky Park (150/1)

Verdict

BURJ is hard to oppose having acquitted himself nicely under a considerate ride on his Newbury debut. Aussie View will appreciate further but rates a bigger danger than Barend Boy who looked a difficult customer last time. Pesci's latest run is not as good as it looks when you delve deeper and each-way backers may want to consider Pirate or Mayfair Spirit as alternatives.
  1. Burj
  2. Aussie View
  3. Pirate
