Was struggling off this sort of handicap mark when last seen on the Flat for Jeremy Noseda. However since being gelded has won twice over hurdles for new stable and market support would be interesting.
Wasn't suited by slow pace over shorter last time and will welcome the return to last winning distance. 6lb higher than last winning mark and others look better handicapped.
Ran a solid race on reappearance after gelding operation over a trip that was too far. Raced well on only previous visit here and this trip will suit better but remains 9lb higher than last winning mark.
Has run poorly on his last two starts and needs to bounce back to form to take a hand. First-time cheekpieces added.
Listed scorer who won twice on very soft ground in France (both 1m3f). Thrown in on old form but beaten out of sight in testing conditions in two runs following lengthy absence and best watched.
Hit the line well over shorter when the inadequate early pace wouldn't have suited. Has looked as though there will be more to come at this trip and should be competitive.
Unsuited by a slow pace on reappearance over an inadequate trip. Won his only previous start here and should improve for the run and the step up in distance. Stable though struggling for winners at present.
Former Roger Varian inmate who makes stable debut and first run since wind surgery. Ideally wants further but possibilities off current mark for in-form trainer and worth a check in the betting.
Without a win since taking the Group 2 Beresford Stakes at the Curragh as a juvenile. Had been competitive in Singapore but well beaten in three starts for new stable and hard to fancy despite significant drop in the weights.
Front runner who continues to race well at a variety of trips including a win here over a furlong shorter and 2lb lower. Should make a bold bid again but others open to more improvement.
Has only had four starts including a win here over a mile when trained by Andrew Balding. Has had two good seconds following an absence for new stable the latest of which was in a good contest. Has been shaping as though he'll improve up in trip.
Former Nicky Henderson runner who won five times under all codes. Needs a stiff test of stamina and resumes after lengthy absence 5lb higher than last winning mark. Hard to recommend on stable debut.
Showed little on first run for new stable following a lengthy absence. Competitively handicapped but easily overlooked until signs of a revival.
Won both starts over this C&D and was unsuited by the soft ground kast time. More required off this 4lb higher mark but possibilities returned to this track.
Forecasts
Simoon (11/8), Native Fighter (11/4), Trading Punches (10/1), Amlad (10/1), West Coast Flyer (16/1), Rainbow Rebel (20/1), Argus (20/1), Port Douglas (20/1), Medrano (25/1), Ay Ay (25/1), Vivre Pour Vivre (33/1), High Command (66/1), Novis Adventus (66/1), Courtesy Call (100/1)
Novis Adventus and High Command are interesting on their first run for their new respective stables and the market should give a good idea of expectations. Rainbow Rebel and Argus should be competitive again but SIMOON looks to have more progress to come at this trip and remains lightly-raced. Likewise Trading Punches will appreciate the stiffer test and looks the main danger.
- Simoon
- Trading Punches
