Has failed to complete her last three races so makes very limited appeal despite winning off this mark four starts ago. Second start for this yard and cheekpieces go on for the first time.

Hasn't been seen in this sphere since November 2016. Switch to this yard has sparked a revival and a well backed winner at Brighton on the flat last month. First jumps start for this yard and rider takes off a very handy 10lbs. Likely to go well.

Back to form with a bang at Worcester (2m4f, soft) last when travelling strongly through the race and winning comfortably. Slapped with an 8lb rise for that win but still well in on old form. Drop in trip and stiffer track pose different questions.

Three hurdles runs have shown definite signs of ability including here on hurdling debut when just touched off. Out of her depth in a Listed contest at Aintree last time. Makes handicap debut today and the hood goes on for the first time. Player.

Took a while to come to hand but has run three solid races on the bounce now. Nudged up 2lbs for being beaten last time tempers enthusiasm slightly for win purposes but likely to run her race and be in the shake up once more.

Taking small backwards steps at present and the way she stopped pretty quickly at Exeter last time was alarming. Better ground here may help but could find others improving past her unless stopping the rot.

Nice looking mare who has disappointed on the track so far. Beaten a long way on handicap debut at Southwell (2m4½f, good) last time which was her first run after a wind op. Dropped 5lbs for that and it's hard to fancy her at present.

Sent off favourite for her handicap debut at Wincanton (1m7½f, good) last month when finishing pretty tamely. Could come on for that and dropped 3lbs so not dismissed in what looks an open contest.

Having her first run for almost three years when finishing fifth here last month. Held up out the back and made steady progress without threatening. Dropped 3lb and every chance she could come on for that and market check is very much advised.

Runs from 6lb out of the handicap and looks as though that will make this more of a struggle. Only a couple of lengths behind Let's Be Happy at Wincanton last time but will have to work very hard to reverse that form.

Forecasts

Westerbee (5/2), Ruby Russet (4/1), Carraigin Aonair (7/1), Lady Longshot (8/1), Kiruna Peak (8/1), Olymnia (10/1), Let's Be Happy (12/1), Theatre Rouge (16/1), Oh Dear Oh Dear (25/1), Sugar Storm (33/1)

Verdict

A really open looking mares handicap to kick things off. Carraigin Aonair has obvious claims having won for this yard at Brighton on the flat last time. Westerbee sauntered through the race when winning easily at Worcester 11 days ago and is still feasibly handicapped on old form. Market moves for either Theatre Rouge and in particular Olymnia should be noted. Slight preference is for KIRUNA PEAK who ran well here on hurdles debut and had no chance at a higher level last time. She makes her handicap debut on what looks like a fair mark and should go close.
  1. Kiruna Peak
  2. Westerbee
  3. Olymnia
