C&D winner on quick ground as a juvenile (June 2017) but kept good company for the remainder of the season and struggled as a result. Should be sharper for his seasonal return at Newmarket last month (6f).
A winner on fast ground on debut at Newmarket (5f) as a juvenile, but found life tougher in Group/Listed contests thereafter. Back with a pleasing effort on good ground on handicap debut at Chester (5f); finishing fourth to Spoof (beaten 2+L).
Not at her best towards the end of her juvenile campaign, and that would be a worry as would the forecast conditions tonight with the majority of her racing done with some cut; 5f winner on debut (good to soft).
A winner on his second start at Carlisle in July 2017 (5f good to soft), but struggled on handicap debut and tailed off at Listed level when last seen in the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy in October. Gelded for return.
Notched an AW hat-trick in February and March (all over 5f), but his progress has seemingly slowed, finishing last of eleven on turf debut at Newmarket last month (6f good). Return to a shorter trip an obvious plus.
Versatile sort who has largely done well on the AW since joining this trainer for 35,000 gns in October 2017 (dual 6f scorer). However, posted a modest effort on turf at Bath in April (5½f), and an unknown commodity on quick ground.
Unbeaten in two starts as a juvenile, making all to score by a neck over C&D on debut in May 2017 (good). Back from a 12 month break with a poor show at Bath (slowly) latest, but remains respected.
Won on Tapeta at Wolverhampton (5f) on his second career start in November 2017, but could only finish in the ruck at Kempton on his return to action in April (6f). Draw not overly positive for handicap debut.
Sports a 50% strike rate on the AW (3 from 6), with all of those victories coming over a 5f trip, and whilst still a maiden on turf (0 from 5), was beaten by fine margins at Carlisle latest when third to Seen The Lyte.
Made the frame on both previous Windsor outings, including when breaking the maiden tag over C&D in October (soft). Not helped by a tardy start on his seasonal return at Salisbury (6f), but well beaten nevertheless, so has a little bit to prove.
Her sole success came with some cut (5f good to soft), and she's built up a rather frustrating sequence of second placed efforts, including when beaten ¾L by Spring Romance over C&D last month. Pacy, but vulnerable on a line through Kion.
Forecasts
Formidable Kitt (5/2), Iconic Knight (4/1), Rumshak (5/1), Rock of Estonia (7/1), Kodiac Express (8/1), Nine Below Zero (11/1), Magic Pulse (14/1), Kion (20/1), Towelrads Boy (20/1), Grandfather Tom (33/1), Debutante's Ball (50/1)
Formidable Kitt is a pacy filly and she's certain to be towards the fore early with the likes of Kodiac Express and Rock Of Estonia in a race which will be run at a frenetic pace. Therefore, we'll look for something that can tuck in behind the leaders and finish well from a handy position, and the top-weight NINE BELOW ZERO fits that profile. Despite his mark being plenty high enough, he's taken in the hope that a switch back to 5f at Windsor can bring about a more positive showing.
- Nine Below Zero
- Magic Pulse
- Formidable Kitt
