Winner of a 6f handicap at Naas on reappearance (soft to heavy) before being found out in stronger contest at Newmarket last month. Some rain might help, but tough ask conceding weight all round.

Experienced campaigner who is still 3lbs higher than when winning at the Galway Festival back in August. Perhaps may have needed the run on debut for this trainer last time at Naas.

Raven's Pass filly won twice last year as a three-year-old, both times over 5f. Likely to stat this trip and has benefit of a run behind her now.

Age: 7|  Weight: 9-6| J: Chris Hayes| T: R O'Brien| OR:  90| D
8/1
Experienced and talented performer for David O'Meara, no turf win since September 2016 at Ayr (7f, good to soft) and well fended off last week at Leopardstown, work to be done.

Son of Cape Cross was a Group 3 winner over this trip at Leopardstown in 2015, has only raced twice since however and must defy 996-day absence on debut for John Oxx. On a dangerous mark should he retain his ability.

Twice a winner last summer over 7f/1m on testing surfaces, beaten favourite in both handicaps starts this term but not one to write off just yet. The new blinkers may bring about a change in fortune.

Reliable yardstick has served connections well with ten win from 70-race career (six on turf). Didn't run up to his best last month at the Curragh (7f, good) but cannot be discounted.

Declaration Of War colt, improved during AW campaign over the winter, winning twice. Need to eke out a bit more back on turf to score from this mark, may be capable of doing so.

Forecasts

Ishebayorgrey (5/2), Knowing You (7/2), Convergence (4/1), Medicine Jack (5/1), That Is The Spirit (8/1), Have A Nice Day (8/1), Snowstar (12/1), Dream Walker (20/1), War Hero (25/1)

Verdict

Paddy Prendergast landed this contest a year ago and WAR HERO might be worth a chance now. The Declaration Of War colt improved over the winter on the AW at Dundalk and should be capable of going close back on turf with Sean Davis taking off a handy 7lb. Ishebayorgrey is the benchmark and will likely run well, though he would be better suited over 7f. Knowing You and Snowstar are potential improvers.
  1. War Hero
  2. Knowing You
  3. Snowstar
