Twice placed on the AW at Southwell earlier this year (6f to 7f), but has had a short break since a low-key showing at Wolverhampton in February. Well drawn and stable in better shape now, but 0/9 on turf and might well need this run.
A short-head winner of the 5f handicap on this card in 2017, she was most productive early doors last term and looked to be on the way back to form at Thirsk latest (5f good to firm). Form respectable yet still dropped 2lb.
Went close off this mark at Thirsk in late April (7f), but that's generally the way with this horse. Not a frequent winner (2 from 55) and often flatters to deceive; beaten a head over C&D in October 2017 (soft).
Veteran course specialist who won a division of this contest in 2017 (good to firm), making all to beating Exotic Guest by just over 1L. Not in the same form, but has been an absolute flag-bearer for this trainer (21/155 career) over the years.
Dropped to selling company for his seasonal reappearance at Thirsk recently (6f) and is struggling to shed the maiden tag; now 0/13. Others much more appealing.
Cost 50,000 gns as a yearling, but struggled to make an impression as a juvenile. Back with a bang when staying on from an unpromising position to score by ½L over 7f here in April; 5lb higher.
On a lengthy losing run, having not delivered since August 2016 and was a well beaten last of 20 on his return to action at Thirsk a fortnight ago (6f good to firm).
Shown no worthwhile form since August 2016 (when with Gay Kelleway) and was held over C&D (fourth) in a fairly moderate looking seller recently.
Consistent over 5f at Musselburgh during 2016 (2,4,1,3,1,5,8) but lacked much in the way of sparkle during the course of 2017 falling steadily down the weights and that barren run has continued this calendar year.
Hard to offer any positives with regards her chance on form (0 from 12), and that's further compounded by a wide draw. No chance unless completely rejuvenated for a six-month break.
Remains a maiden after 11 starts, but has fallen to a career low mark. However, she did produce her best effort over C&D in July 2017 (good to soft) when beaten a neck by Faithful Promise (off a 15lb higher mark).
Showed slightly more over 5f at Redcar latest, but had appeared to be a moderate performer prior to that effort. Step up in trip helpful, but has plenty of improvement to find if to even threaten to trouble the judge.
Result Amended
Nifty Niece - Original Position 2nd. Amended Position 1st.
Money For Luck - Original Position 1st. Amended Position 2nd.
Forecasts
Bee Machine (5/2), Cool Strutter (11/2), Dyson's Girl (6/1), Jack Blane (13/2), Glyder (7/1), Sir Geoffrey (10/1), Silk Mill Blue (11/1), Money For Luck (20/1), A J Cook (20/1), Nifty Niece (50/1), Thornaby Princess (66/1), King Of Castilla (100/1)
Seemingly the weaker of the two divisions of this sprint with the admirable veteran campaigner Sir Geoffrey bidding to retain his crown, despite a number of these horses holding a stronger chance on selective pieces of form including Dyson's Girl, Cool Strutter and the dropped in trip April course winner Bee Machine. However, GLYDER was a winner on this card in 2017 (5f) and shaped as if her turn was near at Thirsk recently, so from a very fair mark and with a couple of races under her belt since wind surgery she makes most appeal.
- Glyder
- Bee Machine
- Dyson's Girl
