Won on debut but after some disappointing runs took advantage of a much reduced mark to finish a good second over this C&D. Handled quicker conditions and should go close again off the same mark.
Failed to improve on his debut second in his next two starts and was well held last time. This looks his distance and now makes handicap debut. Market best guide.
On a long losing run but showed two runs back he still has a race in him. Disappointed last time and would prefer softer conditions.
Well beaten in two previous starts on turf but has been much improved on the AW since. In great form winning two and placed second twice in last four starts at Newcastle. Now rated 6lb higher on AW.
Won this race two years back and has plummeted in the weights in recent times. Needs to find some improvement though and held again on reappearance.
Probably needed his return and down in grade on his second start back but does tend to reserve his best for softer conditions.
On long losing run but back to form on quick ground last time when not getting the clearest of runs. Possibilities if building on that but stable quiet at present.
Took advantage of reduced mark when running on strongly over slightly further at Hamilton for a back to form second. Suited by quicker surface there and this trip will suit better off only 1lb higher.
Returned from an absence with two poor runs on the AW at the end of last year and tailed off again on reappearance.
Best form has come on softer ground and well beaten in two starts this year on AW. Needs to progress but stable have had a couple of recent winners.
Won on quick ground two starts back but failed to back that up on a fast surface when up 4lb. Reportedly found the going too quick there so perhaps needs an easier surface off current mark.
Failed to build on promise of placed effort on soft ground when beaten on quick ground last time. Reportedly unsuited by the conditions so may find things too quick again.
Five time winner on AW but yet to breakthrough on turf in 16 starts and heads back to this surface off the back of three disappointing runs.
17 race maiden was noted keeping on late last time. Slight extra distance in his favour but does need to find some improvement to finally breakthrough.
Yet to win on turf and had done most of his recent running on the AW at Newcastle but was much better back on this type of surface when not getting a clear run. Can build on that albeit upped in grade.
Forecasts
Rey Loopy (9/2), Abushamah (6/1), God Willing (13/2), Shamaheart (8/1), Gun Case (9/1), Off Art (9/1), Thornaby Nash (10/1), Ce La Vie (12/1), Supreme Power (16/1), Keir Hardie (20/1), Lukoutoldmakezebak (25/1), Celtic Artisan (33/1), Honey Badger (33/1), Crystal Sunstone (33/1), Black Hambleton (66/1)
Back on turf REY LOOPY effectively gets to race off his last winning mark from the AW and it's worth taking a chance that he can transfer his fine recent form to this surface. Gun Case looks on a very competitive mark and can build on a better recent run while Ce La Vie was well suited by similar conditions here last time and a reproduction would see her go close.
- Rey Loopy
- Gun Case
- Ce La Vie
