Winner over C&D two starts back off a 1lb lower mark. Couldn't follow up over 7f last time when no obvious excuse and a player once again returned to this trip.
Possibly didn't enjoy the undulations when well beaten at Brighton (7f, good to soft) last month. Drop back in trip is no issue and a return to the AW is a positive with Silvestre De Sousa booked.
Three quick starts in novice company already this year. Second run at Newmarket would suggest this is a fair opening mark. Put a line through his last run at Nottingham when he stumbled at the start. Ryan Moore is back on board for handicap debut.
Improving slowly and went close at Brighton (5½f, good to soft) last time when wandering up the hill. Raised 4lbs for that effort but this is only her second start for shrewd trainer who does well with sprinters.
Been well backed on all three starts in handicaps so far this year and no joy as yet. Likes to race prominently and could be vulnerable once again in closing stages here.
Already having a terrific year ahving won three of his last four. Again did it snugly at Windsor (5f, good to firm) last time and has only been hit with a 3lb rise. Robert Winston takes over from Jack Duern and a player once more.
Seen to maximum effect when winning her final race as a juvenile when with Brendan Powell on the AW over 5f. Hood went on for first run for new yard at Windsor last time when well beaten by Spring Romance and a lot to do to reverse that form.
Forecasts
Spring Romance (5/2), Global Excel (11/4), Prevent (3/1), Rastacap (5/1), Kath's Lustre (14/1), Forever In Love (14/1), Jonnysimpson (50/1)
Forever In Love is likely to continue to improve for her new yard and is a player. Prevent is of obvious interest on handicap debut with Ryan Moore back in the saddle today. Preference though is for SPRING ROMANCE who is a sprinter thriving at present and with his run style, may well still be ahead of the handicapper.
