Beaten favourite last time out finishing a disappointing third of seven in a Tramore maiden hurdle when last seen in October. Will possibly need the run on return to the track.

Third of four runners well beaten 14L in a Listowel bumper when sent off favourite when last seen in September last year. Looks a tall order on maiden hurdle debut.

Fair form in his last three maiden hurdles but disappointed on his last start in a Clonmel contest as beaten favourite when last seen in September. Market likely to be the best guide here on return.

Soft ground Flat winner at Salisbury for Ed Walker in September 2016 and ran well when fifth on hurdles and stable debut at Wexford last September before a promising run finishing second of nine on return to the track earlier this month.

Improved steadily in bumpers winning at Killarney in August but has generally disappointed in a couple of below-par displays in Fairyhouse and Tipperary maiden hurdles since, including a 52L defeat earlier this month.

11-race maiden and held in three handicap starts so far including when beaten 44L in a 26 runner contest at Leopardstown before slight promise in a Tipperary contest earlier this month. Improvement on the cards but a tough ask in this company.

Keen early on before leading briefly at the last on maiden hurdle debut at Punchestown earlier this month eventually finishing fourth of 25 in a promising run. Will look to improve.
Failed to finish any of his last four point-to-point contests and well beaten looking one paced on maiden hurdle debut at Sligo earlier this month. Unlikely to play a part in the finish.

Pulled up on both career point-to-point starts and first time tongue-tie did not bring about any improvement earlier this month in two maiden hurdle starts at Killarney and Limerick. Plenty to prove here.

Black Sam Bellamy gelding out of a mare who finished fourth in a Group 3 contest on the Flat. Disappointing in sole bumper start in December beaten 61L. No impression on maiden hurdle debut beaten 32L finishing 12th of 15 at Killarney this month.

Placed in a Wexford maiden hurdle in December 2012 but tailed off following five and half year absence in a Sligo novice hurdle earlier this month. Impossible to fancy.

Suffered shuddering defeats towards the end of the year beaten 117L in a Navan bumper before showing signs of improvement in a Killarney maiden hurdle keeping on well to finish third of 18 earlier this month. Market likely to reveal expectations.

Well held 11th when making his debut in a 2m maiden hurdle at Thurles in November before a dismal 144L defeat when last seen at Fairyhouse in January. Work to do based on two career starts.

Nothing of any note in a number of dismal maiden hurdle displays since December. Looks opposable and easily dismissed.

Daughter of Oscar out of a Dilshaan mare related to game sorts Big Zeb, Peddlers Cross and Rock On Ruby. Yard among the winners recently at Wexford and one to watch in the market.

Verdict

Balinaboola Steel and Glorious Legend could be vying for the lead here possibly setting the race up for one of those who prefer to race prominently like the Gordon Elliott-trained ANYTIME NOW who was beaten favourite when finishing third of seven at Tramore in October. Gallant John Jo and the Joseph O'Brien-trained Paris Texas, in the colours of J P McManus can battle for the minor honours with the early leaders.
