Unbeaten on the AW but form has been a little more inconsistent on turf. Struggled in the Lincoln but should be better suited by this trip and the quicker ground.

Overcame an absence to post a third win from just five starts when scoring on the AW earler this month. Up 8lb but progressive and may still be ahead of the handicapper.

Sixth in the Lincoln on his return and posted solid runs subsequently in two Listed races. Should be competitive again but needs to prove he needs this far.

Well backed to win on stable and seasonal reappearance. Raise of 5lb shouldn't be a problem on old form and trainer does particularly well with his imports from other stables. Likely to make another bold bid.

Still on a competitive mark but disappointed on last two starts (Flat and over hurdles) and needs to find more in strong contest.

Won this comfortably off 5lb lower last year but had been in form running into it. Showed nothing in three starts since and needs to bounce back on reappearance.

Well handicapped on last year's form and although plenty to find with Restorer from Chester run it's feasible he could get closer after suffering a poor draw.

Progressive and bounced back from disappointing run in the Spring Mile with a slightly unlucky fourth at Wetherby. Has suggested there's more to come at this sort of trip and should be competitive.

In decent form with a win and then competitive off this mark with a good third in a decent York handicap. Likely to be involved again.

Stable won this in 2015 & 2016 and remain in good form. Easy winner at HQ last time but up 8lb in a competitive race should make things difficult.

Best form has been at shorter and although feasibly handicapped is difficult to fancy following down the field effort in the Victoria Cup.

Forecasts

Restorer (4/1), Big Country (9/2), Seniority (9/2), Titus (11/2), Leader's Legacy (6/1), What's The Story (7/1), Via Via (7/1), Indian Chief (7/1), Abareeq (10/1), Briardale (20/1), Nicholas T (25/1), Speed Company (28/1), Sir Chauvelin (33/1)

Verdict

A typically strong renewal in which the lightly-raced Leader's Legacy will be popular and is probably still ahead of the handicapper at this stage of his career. RESTORER landed a gamble at Chester and there's still more to come off this mark on just his second start for his shrewd trainer. Big Country should bounce back from a below par effort at Doncaster with these conditions much more suitable. What's The Story still has plenty of upside while Abareeq represents a stable with a fine recent record in the race.
