Forged clear for 4L success at Carlisle on Monday over this trip on good to firm, carries a 5lb penalty but should give another strong account as long as ground doesn't deteriorate.
Denied at hat-trick at Southwell in October having previously won two races at Ayr (both over 1m). Has a career-high mark back on turf but ought to be suited by the forecast ground.
Monsieur Bond filly recorded summer hat-trick at up to 1m last year on good/soft going before disappointing on final start at Sandown. Retains potential to defy this handicap mark and capable of going well fresh.
Improved colt on the AW this year after having a wind operation over the winter, scoring on return at Kempton over a mile in February and competitive next time off this mark. There could be more to come back on turf.
Winning reappearance at Doncaster (1m, soft) last month and likely can progress further this season. Yard in decent form and will have ground to suit here, contender.
Has dropped to a workable mark but two runs this season have been unconvincing at Newbury and Windsor and doesn't appear the most straightforward at times, others preferred.
Son of Invincible Spirit cost a small fortune as a yearling and is beautifully bred. Fair effort on handicap bow at Sandown (1m, good) in the autumn and has been gelded in the off-season. Could be more to come.
Progressive in four AW starts in the second half of last year, winning twice, Aussie Rules gelding has yet to showcase similar ability on turf. Backed out from decent position on return in Ascot apprentice contest but too soon to write him off.
Well beaten on all three starts so far in 2018 but takes a drop in trip now and has fallen 5lb below previous winning mark. Player should he bounce back to form.
Roderic O'connor mare chased home an improving sort at Ascot (1m, soft) on turf bow this month in an apprentice race. Multiple winners have come out of that contest and she's one to pay close attention to now.
Forecasts
Secret Return (7/2), Jumira Prince (7/2), Najashee (9/2), Aclimatise (11/2), Fox Trotter (8/1), Arsenio Lupin (11/1), Glenn Coco (14/1), Madeleine Bond (16/1), Sir Plato (16/1), Jay Kay (33/1)
SECRET RETURN made a pleasing start on turf at Ascot this month when runner-up to an improving sort over this trip. She had daylight between herself and the remainder and the form of that race has worked out quite nicely (three winners). Rhiain Ingram's claim should be useful and she's capable of taking this. Carlisle winner Aclimatise should go well under a penalty while Doncaster winner Jumira Prince is respected for the in-form Roger Varian yard. Madeleine Bond, Jay Kay and Arsenio Lupin can all be given their claims.
- Secret Return
- Jumira Prince
- Aclimatise
