Rip Van Winkle has shown promise on the AW, though was a bit disappointing on turf bow over 7f at this track earlier in the month. Needs to improve to land this.
Some promise shown in three turf starts last year and on the AW in 7f Lingfield novice in December. That race has worked out well and merits consideration on handicap debut.
Been beaten a long way on her last two starts and hard to have any confidence. Steps up in trip and positive jockey booking though so market check is needed here.
Promise shown in trio of starts as a juvenile for Tony Carroll, has joined a yard that tends to get more from this sort of runner and booking of James Doyle a big plus.
Made a winning start on the AW Wolverhampton in December over 7f, though not built on it since. Perhaps didn't enjoy heavy going on recent turf bow at Windsor.
Promising debut over 6f at Windsor last summer, another decent effort there recently over a mile, capable of being in the mix now.
Unable to make mark on handicap debut over 1m2f at Nottingham recently, has previously shaped with some promise over this trip and looks suited here having eased two pounds.
Filly outran odds of 50/1 at Thirsk last month when 4L third of 10, perhaps didn't relish better ground since at Nottingham when failing to build on that effort, has to find a bit more.
Just failed to get up in 7f Wolverhampton handicap on the first of this month, extra furlong appears to suit now and yard in decent form recently.
Solid effort in 7f Newmarket handicap recently on good to firm, finished 2L away in third. 1lb lower here and every chance of finding a bit more to open account.
Doesn't appear to have been thrown in for handicap debut based on what she's managed so far, back from a break and entitled to need this outing.
Declaration Of War filly, half-sister to five winners and dam a Listed winner, has been beaten in some above-average maidens recently and should improve in time. Respected for trainer/jockey team.
Both runs for this yard have been over 6f, Footstepsinthesand filly has made the frame three time in her seven outings. Needs to bounce back after poor Yarmouth run this month.
Lethal Force filly sent off 28/1 recently on handicap debut over 7f on good to firm here, failing to build a challenge under hold-up tactics. Up in trip, more needed.
Forecasts
Miss Mumtaz (2/1), Lethal Angel (5/1), Geetanjali (8/1), Lucifugous (17/2), Arendelle (9/1), Mrs Benson (14/1), Livvys Dream (16/1), Javelin (16/1), Downtown Mombasa (16/1), Katie Lee (25/1), Calling Rio (28/1), River Cafe (33/1), Unveiling (33/1), Jenoow (33/1)
Geetanjali only just failed to get up last time at Wolverhampton and should have a big say now stepped up in distance but KATIE LEE shaped nicely on the AW at Lingfield in December in a race that has worked out quite nicely. Henry Candy's charge appears to have been given a decent mark to start in handicaps and she can grab this. Miss Mumtaz should improve for her yard while Lethal Angel also needs a second look.
- Katie Lee
- Geetanjali
- Lethal Angel
