Of little account on the Flat but got off to a flying start for 1,000gns winning yard in a Punchestown maiden hurdle earlier this month. Looks a progressive type and shortlisted here.
First-time cheekpieces are added following the gelding failing to build on a promising maiden hurdle win at Downpatrick in March. From powerful trainer/jockey combination but has struggled on this ground in the past.
Distance winner in a Killarney maiden hurdle earlier this month under todays jockey. One for the shortlist in this contest.
A half-brother to useful hurdler/smart chaser Runswick Royal, he was picked up for €50,000 by connections. Disappointing in a Punchestown bumper last month and hard to fancy here.
Taking his time to come to hand for powerful owner/trainer combination disappointing in two hurdle starts last month. Not written off but needs to bounced back.
C&D winner on his sole hurdle win in September last year. Clearly a progressive type but needs to eek out more here.
Nothing of note in three starts on the Flat. Not seen since January 2017 and difficult to make a case for the gelding here.
Never a factor and tailed off beaten 76L on maiden hurdle debut at Punchestown earlier this month. Looks up against it here.
Showed herself to be in good form when second in a Sligo maiden hurdle earlier this month. Beaten on the Flat since but has each way claims here.
Daughter of Gold Well out of a Glacial Storm mare related to stoutly bred national hunt sorts Johns Spirit, Holywell and Irish Grand National winner General Principle. Will come on for the experience of Limerick but still a big ask.
Forecasts
Eoline Jolie (11/8), Conron (9/4), Percy (6/1), Waterville Dancer (7/1), Ar Eagla Na Heagla (14/1), Foxy Lass (25/1), Lucky Icon (50/1), Seangoell (66/1), A Dos No Bueno (66/1), April Shadow (100/1)
The Willie Mullins-trained Eoline Jolie is becoming expensive to follow beaten on both starts in April but is well-thought of in the yard and is expected to go well here but may feel stiff opposition from the promising Jessica Harrington-trained CONRON, winner earlier this month at Punchestown. Waterville Dancer can continue his progress in this contest and could grab a place.
- Conron
- Eoline Jolie
- Waterville Dancer
