Lymington Town Supported By Nationwide Concreting Handicap Hurdle

Off time: 14:15 | Winning time: 6m 22.30s

Don Lami¹⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Aidan Coleman| T: A J Honeyball| OR: 118| CD

15/8

Has landed a bumper and a novice hurdle around here. Current mark no more than fair on handicap debut and any rain looks as though it will be detrimental.

Form: 1/1237-1

Rothman^p,t²⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 11-12| J: Tom Cannon| T: C Gordon| OR: 118| BF| C

11/2

Gained an overdue success at Plumpton and not disgraced in better company last time. Handles any ground but generally unproven beyond 2m6f.

Form: 22521-4

Scooby^v1¹⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 11-1| J: Kielan Woods| T: D Killahena & G McPherson| OR: 107

7/1

At his best in the spring of 2017 off a mark of 104. Gradually dropping down the weights and visor given a go, but a bit more leniency may be needed.

Form: P/5330-5

Ballintara³³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: M Goldstein| T: Mrs D Grissell| OR: 106

10/1

Caught the eye on his handicap debut last month when shaping better than his final position suggests. Handicap mark still looks tough, but this is an easier race and a market check seems advisable.

Form: 37/0496-

Eddy^t¹⁹

Age: 9| Weight: 10-11| J: Sean Houlihan⁽⁵⁾| T: Mrs S Gardner| OR: 103

8/1

Came to hand at this stage last year and today's rider is 2-4 when on board. Will be better for his comeback run and stamina is not in doubt.

Form: 12U27-8

Mister Serious¹⁷

Age: 9| Weight: 10-10| J: David Noonan| T: R Walford| OR: 102

18/1

Winning point-to-pointer so stamina should not be an issue. Makes his handicap debut off a mark which is taxing given his modest achievements.

Form: 3F32/7-4

Good News¹⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 10-1| J: Harry Cobden| T: Mrs L Richards| OR: 93

7/2

Looked set to exploit a good mark last time before losing his rider approaching the last. Handicapper has rubbed salt in the wounds, but it could have been worse and he has a good opportunity to claim compensation.

Form: 4345P-U

Forecasts

Don Lami (15/8), Good News (7/2), Rothman (11/2), Scooby (7/1), Eddy (8/1), Ballintara (10/1), Mister Serious (18/1)

Good News deserves to win this following his Plumpton mishap but this looks a stronger race and EDDY is preferred. Sue Gardner's charge had a productive 2017 and renews his successful partnership with Sean Houlihan. His stamina cannot be doubted but it is an issue for Rothman. Don Lami is unbeaten here but faces a sterner test than last time
