Has landed a bumper and a novice hurdle around here. Current mark no more than fair on handicap debut and any rain looks as though it will be detrimental.
Caught the eye on his handicap debut last month when shaping better than his final position suggests. Handicap mark still looks tough, but this is an easier race and a market check seems advisable.
Looked set to exploit a good mark last time before losing his rider approaching the last. Handicapper has rubbed salt in the wounds, but it could have been worse and he has a good opportunity to claim compensation.
Forecasts
Don Lami (15/8), Good News (7/2), Rothman (11/2), Scooby (7/1), Eddy (8/1), Ballintara (10/1), Mister Serious (18/1)
Good News deserves to win this following his Plumpton mishap but this looks a stronger race and EDDY is preferred. Sue Gardner's charge had a productive 2017 and renews his successful partnership with Sean Houlihan. His stamina cannot be doubted but it is an issue for Rothman.Don Lami is unbeaten here but faces a sterner test than last time
