Choicely bred colt who has two impressive victories on his CV. Faces a stiff task at the weights and will need to be as good as a Group 1 entry at Royal Ascot indicates.
Landed a gamble from a good draw at Chester. More to do now off a revised mark and a draw which is less helpful.
Progressive sort whose four victories have all been by margins of less than a length. Has clocked some decent times and, by doing just enough to score, he is probably still in front of the handicapper. Has a nice draw.
Made short work of some modest rivals at Windsor last year before tackling pattern company. Back to a more realistic level here but he is yet to show his current BHA rating is justified.
Just came up short at York and now faces a sterner test off a career high mark. Has a decent draw but others are preferred.
Well placed to land two minor races before coming up short behind Society Power last time. Well drawn and that may help him settle better than at Ascot.
Landed a couple of good AW prizes earlier in the year. Has looked a bit short at this level off higher marks since.
Has improved physically over the winter. The way she tanked past a good field on her reappearance left the impression she is better than a handicapper, but a draw in stall 13 is a concern. Should stay 7f.
Has two AW wins to his name but found wanting off his new mark on turf debut. Has plenty to find with Society Power and Fenaan on that showing and they have fared much better in the draw.
Highly impressive when destroying his opponents to make it 2-2 at Chepstow on reappearance. That was over a mile and he looked ready for further rather than shorter that day. Rain would help.
Consistent filly had a busy campaign as a juvenile but landed a nursery here on soft ground off this mark. Tries a new trip but hard to rule out particularly if there is rain.
Produced a rare bad run on turf debut at Chester when handily drawn and placed. Poorly drawn here and has plenty to prove.
Big filly who handles undulations well but can take a good hold. Probably hit the front too soon on reappearance and hood tried now. Mark looks viable and has each-way potential.
Improving filly whose margin of victory is exaggerated by the conditions and tactics employed. More to do here now up in trip and grade, but plenty of rain would help.
Finished well behind Emaraaty last autumn and finally got off the mark in a minor race at Brighton. Looked a hard ride that day and a 9lb rise seems harsh.
Beat a subsequent dual winner at Lingfield (7f) and then looked desperately unlucky at Doncaster last week. Well drawn and hood fitted so further progress cannot be ruled out.
Forecasts
Society Power (5/2), Fennaan (6/1), Grand Koonta (8/1), Emaraaty (10/1), Maverick Officer (10/1), Another Batt (11/1), Zap (12/1), Statuario (12/1), Bambino Lola (20/1), Vale Of Kent (25/1), Maybride (25/1), Ateem (25/1), Neola (25/1), Richenza (33/1), Aquarium (33/1), Count Otto (50/1)
Four of the five winners of this have been drawn in stalls 2-3 and that augurs well for SOCIETY POWER. Willie Haggas is no stranger to plucking big Saturday handicaps and this progressive colt is taken to outsmart the handicapper again. Maybride scored with some ease on her reappearance and may make into more than a handicapper, but she has a tough draw to overcome as do Emaraaty and Another Batt. Neola and Statuario enter calculations if it continues to rain, whilst Maverick Officer found trouble last time and should go close off bottom weight.
- Society Power
- Maverick Officer
