Wide margin winner of a poor Bangor bumper a year ago and snapped up by Gigginstown. Heavy ground probably to blame for an inauspicious debut in these colours but better last time. Bred to stay and top rider takes over from a conditional.

4/1
One of this yard's lesser lights but worth another go at this trip with conditions riding better. Makes the odd mistake and will need to settle better than he has on some occasions.

50/1
Landed two middle-distance handicaps on the Flat last summer when conditions were good. Poor on both starts for this yard, including hurdling debut, when the going was heavier than ideal.

10/1
Better when upped to this trip last time but further improvement needed in this company and on ground quicker than he has faced previously.

Showed only modest ability in two point-to-points but the market suggested more was expected. Hard to recommend on available evidence.

11/2
Winning point-to-pointer who was placed in a Cork maiden over this trip last summer. That form is nothing special and he has not been seen since a poor run nine months ago.

Consistent without being anything special. Being by Scorpion he will be happy with the drying weather and he will improve for his return from a layoff last month.

Last two runs indicate a race of this nature is within his capabilities and latest came after a layoff. Finished ahead of Captain Zebo that day and he is probably the one to beat with stamina unlikely to be an issue.

25/1
Milan gelding that cost €26,000 as a three-year-old. Third in a maiden point last month and this a more suitable test than his bumper here two weeks ago.
Point-to-point winner but needs to improve on two dismal bumper efforts to date. Others make more appeal on hurdling debut.
Placed in a couple of good ground point-to-points back in 2016. Returned to action three weeks ago when conditions were less favourable, but a watching brief remains the advice.
Well beaten in both starts over a year ago. Likely to need this after a layoff and stamina is unproven.

50/1
Stowaway gelding out of a Roselier mare. Related to Hidden Cyclone, Champagne Fever and Outlander. Well beaten on hurdling debut at Thurles before a heavier defeat when last seen in November. Others hold stronger profiles.
15
Horse silk
66/1
Placed in four minor point-to-points last term having showed little under rules previously. Probably needs to improve on what she has shown.

Forecasts

Madison To Monroe (7/2), First Class Ticket (4/1), Itsonlyrocknroll (4/1), Boston Spray (11/2), Cousin Pascal (8/1), Amram (10/1), Captain Zebo (12/1), Creadan Grae (12/1), Private Ledger (20/1), Benruben (25/1), Liar's Dice (25/1), Triangle Rock (50/1), Sandstorming (50/1), Vivalino (66/1), Our Dark Horse (66/1)

Verdict

Some top yards are represented by their less illustrious inmates with Itsonlyrocknroll looking vulnerable over this trip if he is as keen as was the case last time. Creadan Grae may improve with conditions drying out, but nevertheless official ratings rank him 5lb below FIRST CLASS TICKET. The five-year-old ran a gallant race on his return when Captain Zebo was behind in third and when also looking ready for this trip.
  1. First Class Ticket
  2. Creadan Grae
  3. Captain Zebo
