Some good form on the AW at Southwell over the winter, but return to turf not sure to suit and held when favourite over this trip at that course last time out.

Stepped down to this trip at Wetherby last time out and ran okay, now returning to handicap company. On the same mark he finished third off at Newcastle in April, but this looks tougher. Cheek pieces on.

Off the mark at Redcar last time out when returning to this trip and makes his handicap debut here. Claims even on faster ground, with his rider's 5lb claim another boost to his chances.

Ran poorly on seasonal return at Nottingham last time out, and even if he improves for the run and dropped 3lb, this step up in trip in a relatively big field still asks a major question of him.

Has been running well in defeat ever since returning to winning ways at Musselburgh last August. Went close on seasonal return at Beverley latest and up just 1lb holds obvious claims with the same jockey booked.

Ran well in novice company on seasonal return/stable debut at Newcastle last time out, and though he's yet to get off the mark he goes well over this trip and should be thereabouts.

Not far away on fast ground at Musselburgh last time out, and though he's racing over 2f further there than his two victories as a juvenile, he should run well once again.

Last of his three runs in novice/maiden form was easily his best, but progression still needed to defy an opening mark of 70 on handicap debut against some more experienced rivals.

Not disgraced on handicap debut at Chester back in September and makes seasonal debut here. Shaped as if there should be plenty of improvement to come there and interesting off 2lb lower.

Just 2lb higher than when winning at Newcastle in March, but seems best on the AW and beaten 3L on turf return at Beverley last time out.

Solid runs twice in handicap company so far but on the same mark here and likely to need some assistance from the handicapper before getting off the mark. Hood on.

Verdict

An open-looking handicap where it may pay to side with KNOWING GLANCE. Richard Fahey's charge ran well on handicap debut at Chester back in September, and the indications are that he should improve for this quicker ground, with the 2lb drop down the handicap another help to him. Placebo Effect looks the main danger having run well at Beverley last time, while Weellan should also go well.
