Lawman colt out of a dam who won on fairly quick ground so conditions might suit for his turf debut. Got off the mark at the four time of asking on the AW at Lingfield in February and remains open to further imporvement.
Eased 1lb and gelded since a series of decent efforts over 6f and 7f this winter on the AW, including a win at Chelmsford in December. 8lh higher than that success and didn't shine on turf last year so has a point to prove.
Connections have struggled to find the optimum trip for this son of Raven's Pass who has been gelded following five runs on the AW without success. May do better on turf and top yard remains in good form.
No great shakes in three starts last term but has done better in two runs this spring, although a beaten favourite on each occasion over 6f. Extra furlong may help but is proving expensive to follow.
Red Jazz filly who won over 6f at Wolverhampton AW last summer. Finished last on seasonal retrun and tries a new trip here but doesn't look obviously well handicapped.
Yet to win after six starts but hinted that his turn might not be far away when runner-up over 1m at Newcastle AW last time out having been slow to break. Fast-run 7f here might prove ideal and he should make his presence felt.
Kept on well at Brighton recently to land first success and has been raised 5lb for his troubles. Clearly in fine fettle at the moment and while this is a very different track he should still be there or thereabouts.
Mainly campaigned thuis far on the AW but yet to get his head in front in seven starts. Never nearer than at the finish when fifth at Kempton last time so stiff climb to the line here may help.
Showed little in France for top trainer Criquette Maarek-Head and after disappointing on first two starts in UK for new connections did much better last time when 2nd of 14 over this trip at Kempton AW. Worth a check for any market confidence.
Mainly disappointing gelding whose only real form came when third over 1m at Kemtpoin in November. Tailed off on seasonal return though and others make much more appeal on that evidence.
Forecasts
Danzay (9/2), Global Excel (9/2), Directory (5/1), Rivas Rob Roy (13/2), Bajan Gold (13/2), Haverland (9/1), Shania Says (12/1), Marshal Dan (12/1), Swissal (22/1), Arigato (25/1)
Quite a few of these bring AW form to the table but BAJAN GOLD appears to be going the right way after a solid run at Newcastle last time and is given the nod in what is a trappy opening event. Top weight Marshal Dan has to be respected, and Danzay might do better now gelded. Brighton winner Rivas Rob Roy and Haverland are others worth adding into calculations.
- Bajan Gold
- Marshal Dan
- Danzay
