Looks to have been sweetened up by this yard and showed his best for some while with a from off the pace win last time out at Nottingham (1m, heavy). Given the form he showed as a three-year-old he still holds plenty of scope off this mark.
Useful handicapper last year who recorded a couple of wins over 7f on good or better ground. Didn't end the season as well started as it though and needs to bounce back here; last three runs came on soft/heavy ground which didn't suit ideally.
Looked the sort who might go forward this year in handicaps but in two starts so far (one his handicap debut) he's proved very disappointing. Has on both occasions at up to a mile looked a hard ride with the handicapper yet to relent.
Three wins came his way last year with the last of that trio coming in handicaps when with Ed Dunlop. Now left his care and makes his stable debut here; was below form when last seen but has joined a very capable yard.
The only C&D winner in the field he was wearing first-time blinkers when he scored here last year and he's always shown his best around this track. Spent the winter in Dubai and now returns to his favourite track looking to regain his form.
Well handicapped sort he was a non-runner on quick ground at Beverley earlier in the week. This trip is more suitable than the ones he has been running over but may be suited by a little more cut in the ground; worth a market watch.
Already seen plenty of action this year and was well supported when winning over 1m at Newcastle (well supported). Not seen to best effect in his last two starts when he's spoilt his chance by being slow away; still 4lb above his last wining mark.
Quite lightly-raced sort when with Ed Walker eventually winning a small-field maiden over 1m2f and performed well in a couple of handicaps after that. Looked to need the run on her stable debut (weak in market); likes to make the running.
Forecasts
Mutarakez (7/2), Magic City (7/2), Aclimatise (9/2), Zabeel Star (5/1), Be Kool (11/2), Alemaratalyoum (9/1), Fivehundredmiles (12/1), Corked (25/1)
None of these apart from Mutarakez come here in what you would call form and even his chance is likely to rely on a strongly run race like the one he got at Nottingham although he does still have some scope off this mark in the right conditions. Fivehundredmiles tends to run his best races around here and a return may see him return to form with Zabeel Star in with a chance if he gets away on terms. Magic City is well handicapped if connections deem the ground to be suitable but a chance is taken with ALEMARATALYOUM who makes his debut for a very capable yard having shown promise in handicaps last year.
- Alemaratalyoum
- Mutarakez
- Magic City
