Fair amount of promise on debut at Windsor last year and on second start at Kempton, both races over 1m. Bred to appreciate the extra 2f of this contest and should run well on her first start as a four-year-old.

Henrythenavigator filly whose dam won over 1m as a two-year-old. Blinkered on debut, which is slightly disconcerting, but is worth a market check nevertheless.

Nice staying pedigree and showed ability on second of two starts over 1m as a juvenile. Step up in trip sure to suit, but she qualifies for a handicap mark after this and that is her likely route going forward.

Medicean filly who is from the family of Grade 1 middle-distance winner Erupt. Makes her debut in a tongue tie and is worth a check in the betting.

Mount Nelson filly who is a half-sister to a couple of winners from 6f to 1m. Nice-enough pedigree and is one to watch with an eye to the future.

Dubawi filly out of a Galileo mare who fetched 525,000 gns as a yearling. Good deal of promise on Doncaster debut in October and can be expected to take a big step forward.

Frankel filly who is a half-sister to several winners, most notably the very smart Midday. Green and found the trip too sharp on debut over 7f at Wolverhampton in December. Capable of much more over this longer distance.

Well held over 1m4f at Lingfield in the spring. Needs one more run to qualify for a handicap mark and it is in that sphere that she should be seen to best effect.

Quiet debut at Nottingham last October, but shaped much better on return at Wolverhampton earlier this month. Steps up in trip and is a likely player.

Beutifully-bred filly who has shown ability on both starts at Lingfield. Might have to play second fiddle to one or two of these rivals, but is one to keep an eye on.

Joint favourite when well behind the current Oaks favourite on debut at Newbury. Must have been showing something at home so expect a better display with that experience under her belt.

Forecasts

Sun Maiden (4/5), Nassya (3/1), Voluminous (15/2), White Light (9/1), Whispering Sands (16/1), Sheila's Rock (33/1), Hypothetically (33/1), Alucinado (50/1), Maroon Bells (66/1), Toormakeady (66/1), Cleverley (66/1)

Verdict

White Light was well backed on debut at Newbury and is surely better than she showed that day, while Voluminous and Whispering Sands are promising types who look to have a future. However, this may turn into a duel between the beautifully-bred NASSYA and Sun Maiden. The latter is likely to show a big improvement on her debut effort now she tackles a longer trip, but she may have to play second fiddle to the selection, who really caught the eye in a maiden at Doncaster in the autumn.
  1. Nassya
  2. Sun Maiden
  3. Voluminous
