Left Chris Grant for just £2,500 in June 2017 following a couple of low key bumper efforts. Makes his first start for this trainer, but off the track for fast approaching 12 months.
Cost £32,000 as a three-year-old, but finished tailed off on debut in a deep ground Carlisle bumper last month. Vastly different ground conditions anticipated today.
Unraced stablemate of Bowler Bill. Fourth foal by Bushranger out of the extended 1m winner Jinx Johnson; so that's a most unlikely pedigree for a future jumps career.

Showed little promise in a couple of bumpers spread over 13 months apart, but has had wind surgery since lining up at Musselburgh in early January. Market can provide a guide in a poor race.
His dam was a maiden point winner, so it's highly likely that he'll appreciate a stiffer test than a quick ground 2m bumper; and that impression was given on debut at Bangor (fourth) last month.
Unraced fourth foal by September Storm out of an unraced half-sister to seven winners (Merewood Lodge). Half-brother to bumper winner Grandmaster George, so rates as one to note on debut wearing a hood.
Unraced first foal by Yeats out of the bumper/2m-2m5f hurdle winner Swincombe Flame. Cost €45,000 as a foal, and represents a trainer who has never been seen with a Sedgefield runner prior to today.
Raced only on soft ground so far, and will have to considerably better his opening pair of efforts in order to figure prominently on quicker ground today. Better over obstacles with a trip in time.

His maiden dam is a half-sister to no fewer than ten winners, and this debutante belied his 66/1 odds on debut at Newcastle last month (Tapeta) to finish just under 1½L third to Summer Lightening (Sixties Star second).
Son of Sixties Icon who cost just £1,000 as a three-year-old. Finished narrowly in front of today's rival Shamitsar when beaten 1¼L by Summer Lightening on Tapeta at Newcastle last month.

Never in contention on his second career start at Newcastle last month, and judged strictly on that evidence has something to find with both Sixties Star and Shamitsar.

Forecasts

Master Debonair (10/11), Fast And Friendly (9/2), Sixties Star (5/1), Staged Engagement (15/2), Night Manager (10/1), Shamitsar (14/1), Tiger Time (20/1), Marocchino (33/1), Scappato (50/1), Complex Kid (50/1), Hawthorne Bush (50/1), Bowler Bill (100/1)

Verdict

Both Sixties Star and Shamitsar (Tiger Time tenth) filled the placings behind a stablemate of the newcomer Fast And Friendly at Newcastle last month, so could have something to offer if equally adept back on grass. Kenneth Slack is 2 from 4 (50%) with his NHF runners, so a market move for his hooded and claimer ridden newcomer would be worth noting, but the presence of a Colin Tizzard trained runner at Sedgefield is impossible to ignore. MASTER DEBONAIR is the chief reason why his box is aimed northwards from Dorset, and out of the smart bumper/hurdles winner Swincombe Flame, he'll prove tough to beat with rider James Bowen still just able to claim 3lb.
  1. Master Debonair
  2. Fast And Friendly
  3. Night Manager
