Off time: 16:00 | Winning time: 4m 51.90s

Angel's Envy⁴⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: C O'Farrell| T: I Jardine| OR: 84

12/1

Not looked anything special in seven previous starts over hurdles, slowly dropping down the weights in handicap company in each of her last three starts (mainly over 3m).

Form: 6/P6666-

Autumn Surprise¹¹⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: B S Hughes| T: T D Easterby| OR: 92

15/8

Didn't see all that much racing on the Flat, but has shaped as if she can pick up a small race over hurdles, with the pick of her three timber efforts coming on debut at Wetherby in November (2m good to soft).

Form: 354-

Beyond The Stars^h1,t1³²

Age: 7| Weight: 10-12| J: Dale Irving⁽³⁾| T: M A Barnes

80/1

Failed to complete in all four career starts, including on rules debut over C&D last month (heavy). Wears a first time hood and tongue tie.

Form: UPP/P-

Newtown Belle⁸⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Jonathon Bewley⁽³⁾| T: G Bewley

100/1

Failed to beat a single rival in two starts in bumpers (head-strong on debut). Goes hurdling for the first time in a moderate affair, but impossible to enthuse over.

Form: 87-

Shine Away¹⁹³

Age: 8| Weight: 10-12| J: Danny Cook| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR: 95

3/1

Unlike her five rivals, she is at least a winner; albeit in a 2m5f handicap chase at Cartmel in August 2017. Should go close if able to replicate her hurdles effort at Catterick in December 2015 (second to Actinpieces).

Form: P/4712P-

Tickerty Boo¹⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Nathan Moscrop⁽⁵⁾| T: B Ellison

6/4

Made her first start for five months (hurdles debut) when finishing a keeping on 1+L third to Kick On Dottie at Hexham (2m good) just ten days ago. Should relish this longer trip under a useful 5lb claimer.

Form: 58/49-3

Forecasts

Tickerty Boo (6/4), Autumn Surprise (15/8), Shine Away (3/1), Angel's Envy (12/1), Beyond The Stars (80/1), Newtown Belle (100/1)

A race which should rest between Autumn Surprise, TICKERTY BOO and Shine Away. The selection caught the eye in what was probably a modest race at Hexham recently, but in truth today's contest is no stronger, and she should benefit for this step up in trip on her second start over obstacles. Shine Away needs to prove her well-being; dismounted when pulled up at Uttoxeter in November, but her previous form is the best on offer.
