Listowel maiden winner (1m4f, heavy) in September, has only run four times in total and may benefit from last week's run at Roscommon when unable to sustain challenge in closing stages over 1m2f. Has scope for better.
Authorized gelding, returned from absence with career-best to win a 1m4f yielding to soft Navan maiden last month in commanding fashion. Must now replicate that form sent into a handicap.
Easy winner of a 1m2f handicap at Cork (good to firm) almost a year ago, his only success so far 13 turf starts. Remains 8lb above that winning mark and was in poor form when last spotted, potentially best watched on return.
Yet to threaten in any of eight starts on turf for two trainers, first start since August and facing uphill task on first attempt over this far, it seems.
Shaped with some degree of promise in a 2m Roscommon bumper in September, easily the best of effort in that sphere / over hurdles. Doesn't appeal now reverting to the Flat.
Some useful French form in 2016, including in a Listed race, won a maiden hurdle last summer at Roscommon and rated 125 over sticks. Looks the one to beat here for Mullins team with champion jockey up despite being off since the autumn.
Six-race maiden, held 10 days ago at Cork in 1m2f (soft to heavy) handicap, seemingly has a lot of improvement to find in order to take front rank in this.
Forecasts
Law Girl (6/4), Brazos (2/1), Constancio (9/4), Lace Bonnet (25/1), The Last Marju (33/1), Elusive Exclusive (50/1), Sir Henry Raeburn (100/1)
LAW GIRL won a maiden hurdle last summer for Willie Mullins and might have been expected to make more progress in that sphere, but she has been absent since October. The Closutton maestro will have her primed and she looks to be favoured on these terms, with some useful Flat form in France before she joined current connections. Brazos appeared to run out of puff at Roscommon a week ago but may do better while Constancio could prove the chief threat for Jim Bolger have won a maiden at Navan in good enough style last time out.
- Law Girl
- Constancio
- Brazos
