Improved on his second start over hurdles at Huntingdon last time out, and could progress again to get competitive in this event.

Slightly disappointing when favourite on hurdling debut at Catterick two starts back and down the field back on the AW at Wolverhampton last time. Previous form gives him a good chance, however.

Not beaten far when sent off favourite for a maiden hurdle over C&D last time out, and should appreciate the likely sounder surface, though he has had more racing than most of these.

Ran well to finish second at Hereford last time out, and could improve further over obstacles especially if improving his jumping; one for the shortlist.

A long way behind Gothic Empire when they last met two starts back, and tough to see her reversing that form having run another moderate race since.

Last couple of efforts on the Flat have left her with plenty to prove, and so others hold much more convincing claims as she makes her handicap debut.

Outran her odds over C&D on her first completed start over hurdles last time. Could improve again and can't be ruled out from filling a place if so.

Verdict

This may finally be JUMPING JACK's opportunity to get off the mark. He has had a few chances by now but looked up to winning at this level when second here last time out (though he had been sent off favourite), and the sounder surface may well help him. In a race where a number of them have questions to answer, others with claims are Gothic Empire, who could improve again, as well as Romanor, who is just 3lb behind the selection on ratings.
  1. Jumping Jack
  2. Gothic Empire
  3. Romanor
