Unlucky not to have won for over a year and has run some big races in defeat. Goes well fresh but sole outing here was a below par effort and that's a slight concern.
Useful hold up performer, shaped well on return at Musselburgh in March when third of 13. Last win came at Ascot but perfectly ridden that day and likely to struggle off a career high mark; waiting tactics often a negative at this course.
Useful dual purpose performer who rattled off an AW hat-trick this winter. A below par effort last time at Musselburgh but conditions a legitimate excuse that day and not discounted from a nice draw.
Useful chaser who has two wins from six starts on Flat. Too keen to do himself justice at Musselburgh last time but still feasibly handicapped if he can put that behind him.
Useful dual purpose performer who won again at Ripon last time despite a slow start. Still looks well-handicapped but will need them to go hard up front if he's to pick them off from the rear in his usual manner.
Largely consistent type and a useful stayer. May have needed his return at Ripon last month but widest draw leaves him in need of a clear career best.
Running well over hurdles this winter and won at Kempton in January but tailed off on return to the Flat at Musselburgh in March. Form on the Flat is very hit and miss and others preferred here.
Back to form for this yard but not won since landing a Listed race at Sandown in 2015. Runs his best races when he can get to the rail (lost his left eye) and a win at Listowel earlier in his career a bonus given the likeness to this circuit.
A wide margin winner of a Ffos Las handicap towards the end of last year and returned to the Flat with a respectable effort at Newbury last time out. Less exposed than some but draw not ideal.
Won a jumpers' bumper at Southwell two starts back and has had a couple of wins on the Flat. Well beaten in the Chester Cup over C&D when last seen in this sphere though and wide draw no help here.
Sole win on the Flat came in a Bath handicap back in 2015 and ran some big races in valuable handicaps in both 2015 and 2016. Only lightly raced and out of form in recent seasons though. Entitled to need this run.
Has run some big races in valuable handicaps on the Flat including the Cesarewitch trial. Not an easy ride, as seen when narrowly denied at Newbury last time and while he appeals as well-handicapped, he's drawn wide. Wears first-time cheekpieces.
Last win came at Listowel when trained by Dermot Weld in 2016. Out of form in two runs since joining this yard and others preferred.
On a long losing run since winning the Chester Cup here over C&D in 2014. Starting to become well-handicapped on old form and has a nice draw here but recent AW runs leave him with plenty to find. Needs to bounce back.
Runner-up to reopposing stablemate Suegioo in 2014's Chester Cup and reversed the form next time at Newcastle but not won since. Has run some of his better races here, as seen with two placed effort in September and lurks on a dangerous mark.
One win from 10 starts and tailed off when a disappointing favourite at Doncaster last time, returning from a significant absence. May come on for that run but hard to fancy from out of the handicap in this field.
Forecasts
American Gigolo (4/1), Byron Flyer (9/2), Coeur de Lion (7/1), Euchen Glen (7/1), Eye of The Storm (7/1), Angel Gabrial (8/1), Suegioo (10/1), Look My Way (12/1), Night Of Glory (16/1), Mixboy (25/1), Dominating (25/1), Mirsaale (33/1), Guard Of Honour (40/1), Zafayan (40/1), Good Tradition (50/1), Sir Pass I Am (50/1)
ANGEL GABRIAL may be on a long losing run but he ran well at Doncaster last time out and he's on a very lenient mark on his old form. First-time cheekpieces may help Coeur De Lion iron out his quirks while Look My Way and Eye Of The Storm are interesting each-way contenders in a competitive renewal.
- Angel Gabrial
- Look My Way
- Eye of The Storm
