Doubtful that she retains an awful lot of ability having been lightly-raced of late and pulled-up on her last two starts. Now wears a headgear and a tongue-tie for the first time with the stable rather quiet.

Given a mark of 95 for her first foray into handicaps and hard to say that that's a lenient mark based on her novice form. Bumper form was poor and her hurdles form equally modest.

Fleur Du Pommier16

She's been well-held in all her starts over hurdles (equally modest bumper form) and her handicap mark still looks a stiff one despite the 3lb drop from her debut in that sphere.

Her Flat form was decent enough and although she's not really sparkled over hurdles so far the opening mark doesn't look a stiff one based on her form on the level. She's hinted at some ability though and has to be considered here.

Comes here off the back of a run on the AW but that was well below-par and she's yet to win over hurdles. Her last two hurdles wins have been poor and she's one to treat with caution in this.

Form and mark had very much been on the slide of late although she did manage to stop the rot last time at Newton Abbot. A bad mistake ended her chance last time but she may just be a little better than that.

Only beaten three horses home on her completed hurdles starts and now goes handicapping for the first time. That may help here cause but on the evidence so far this trip looks harsh.

Improved on her previous form on her second run for this yard bumping into a well-handicapped individual. Had looked capable of winning a handicap based on that run but fell last time; still of interest back over 2m on better ground.

Stayed 1m4f on the Flat (won a handicap of 61) but has yet to really match that form over hurdles although based on her Flat mark this is a fairly workable mark. Had a recent run on the Flat; one to note in the market.

First run for a while with the yard a little quiet at the moment and she's yet to win over hurdles. Others make more appeal.

Runs from 6lb out of the handicap and looks as though that will make this more of a struggle. Finished third last time out in a seller but this looks harder.

Forecasts

Let's Be Happy (9/2), Our Phillie Lily (5/1), Ruby Russet (11/2), Lizzie Langton (11/2), Shufoog (13/2), Oh Dear Oh Dear (13/2), Kristal Hart (12/1), Lady Vitesse (16/1), Comragh (25/1), Fleur Du Pommier (25/1), Moynihans Girl (66/1)

Verdict

Given her Flat form and better underfoot conditions here SHUFOOG should be able to make a bold bid as she makes her handicap debut over hurdles. Colin Tizzard holds a strong hand with both Ruby Russett and Lizzie Langston both looking as though they can be thereabouts. Let’s Be Happy is another one in here with some decent Flat form and she doesn’t look too badly weighted on the basis of her Flat form and may now be able to show more that she goes handicapping in this sphere.

  2. Lizzie Langton
  3. Ruby Russet
