Took time to settle last time out at Bangor. Tongue-strap may help him on that front, while better ground is also a potential positive. 2lb won't harm and a market check looks prudent.

Won at Stratford (2m½f, good) in August when fresh and went very close here over C&D next time from 1lb higher than today. Last few runs were below that level but returns freshened up again and with stable in form he enters calculations.

Has shown a glimmer of ability in three runs so far, making the frame at Ludlow (soft) last time out. Handicap mark looks stiff based purely on the evidence we have, so a market check is suggested to gauge if any increased confidence this time.

Both his wins came in April of last year on good ground at Uttoxeter/Fakenham, the latter from 4lb lower. Lost his way a bit in the autumn/winter, but better effort last time and couldn't rule him out of the frame.

Has looked moderate so far. Was well beaten when tried over 2m4½f on his reappearance at Southwell last time. Dropped 4lb since then and also back in trip. May not be too long now before we see a better effort.

Has failed to make an impact over hurdles since making his debut in this sphere at Clonmel (2m3½f, good) in 2016. Won over 1m4f on Kempton's Polytrack in March, but thrashed back there over hurdles last time and not easy to fancy.

Moderate form in bumpers/novices' hurdles so far. Initial handicap mark looks stiff enough on that evidence and others are readily preferred.

Without success since taking a Ludlow handicap hurdle from 24lb higher in 2015. In good form at a lower level than that last summer, making frame four times. Would have claims if back at that level, but has a bit to prove based on two recent runs.

Triple point-to-point winner who is 0-15 under rules. Best effort since coming to Britain was here over C&D (good) 11-months ago, but form has slumped since then. Pulled up here last time and has plenty to prove at present.

Had dropped to a career-low mark when coming good for just the second time from 40 starts under rules at Taunton (2m½f, good) last month. Up 8lb for that, where front pair were 6L clear. Couldn't rule out a repeat now she has hit some form.

4lb better off with Ice Tres for a 1L defeat by that reopposing rival at Taunton last time, when he was closing at the line. Whether he can be relied upon to repeat or better that effort remains to be seen. If he can then he should be thereabouts.

Has shown very little in four starts over hurdles and two runs post-wind surgery have not suggested that it has had a hugely positive effect. Drops 4lb here but looks in need of more assistance from the handicapper.

1-26 over hurdles, that win coming here over 2m5½f (good) in 2015 when 13lb higher. Well beaten in his last three runs and although better ground looks likely to help, this trip looks to be on the sharp side for him.

We saw very little from him in three maiden/novices' runs over hurdles and that did not change on his handicap debut, when pulled up (2m4f, soft) at Worcester in March. Tries good ground for the first time, which could help. Watching brief advised.

Multiple hurdles winner at 1m7½f-2m2½f and on all types of ground. 21lb lower today than his latest win at Exeter just over a year ago. Form on the slide since then, however, and beaten 17½L from 2lb higher last time.

Ended a two-year barren spell with a win at Bangor (2m3½f, good to soft) last month when scoring by 2L, with 9L back to the third. Up 6lb for that but partly negated by good claimer. Can't ruled out follow-up, though shorter trip perhaps not ideal.

Has struggled to complete since going handicapping and was last of eight, beaten 74L, from 6lb higher when last seen in February. New headgear combination tried for the first time here but hard to make a case for him.

Forecasts

Bee An Aristocrat (9/2), Baron Von Chill (11/2), Centreofexcellence (6/1), Ice Tres (6/1), Come On Charlie (6/1), Unsafe Conduct (17/2), Aaryam (9/1), Glimpse Of Gold (14/1), Thundering Home (16/1), Ice Konig (20/1), Kublai (20/1), Berry De Carjac (20/1), Russian Spy (25/1), Scorpion Star (25/1), Franz Klammer (25/1), Temir Kazyk (33/1), Udogo (40/1), Indigo Stamp (66/1)

Verdict

A moderate race to bring the curtain down on the card and BERRY DE CARJAC is taken to score. Trainer Grace Harris has her runners in good form and the key to this horse's effort here could be that he returns freshened up and on good ground. Unsafe Conduct and Glimpse Of Gold could both put up better efforts again this time, while Bee An Aristocrat is weighted to reverse placings with Ice Tres on their latest running at Taunton and cannot be ruled out. Centreofexcellence is respected, while Baron Von Chill is very interesting on his first start for Dan Skelton.
  1. Berry De Carjac
  2. Baron Von Chill
  3. Unsafe Conduct
