Been in excellent form of late and again went close off 1lb lower at Huntingdon (2m½f, good) two weeks ago. Slight suspicion that this track is a bit one the sharp side though.
Not had the best of winters but is a six-time winner over fences. First run since wind surgery was improved last time and although he's been raised 4lbs for that, this previous C&D winner is still on a good mark.
Was having his first run for four years when returning at Huntingdon on soft ground two months ago. Clearly would have needed that and has had a wind operation since. Well handicapped on old form if able to come on from that.
Struggled off this higher mark since winning well at Bangor in October. Possible that this return to better ground will help but needs to do better and jumping lacks fluency.
Won back-to-back races in early 2016 and missed the whole of 2017. Return to action at Southwell (1m7½f, soft) was full of promise and a good chance he can continue his progress now back on better ground.
Sole success under rules came at Huntingdon (good-to-soft) in a novices handicap chase in November 2015. Had a poor finish to 2017 and will need to do much better back from a five month break. Has dropped to a workable mark.
Has won just once in 70 starts under rules and has shown very little of late. Makes no appeal at present.
Tends to do his winning in class 5 events and finds this grade on the tough side. Whilst not totally ruled out is likely to find a couple too good.
Has a liking for decent ground so conditions should be spot on for him today. Will need to improve on what we have seen over the winter but slightly better over C&D latest and not discounted if he can step up on that.
Now 8lbs lower than when winning over C&D just over a year ago. Three lifeless efforts after though and will need six month break to have really perked him up to take this.
Inconsistent performer who won off a 4lb lower mark at Huntingdon two starts back. Quicker conditions not really ideal but not handicapped out of things and top rider on board today.
Has been pulled up or beaten a long way on all recent starts. Switch to this yard has not seemed to have perked him up the last twice either. Despite falling mark he is very hard to fancy at present.
Moderate chaser who is still 10lb higher than his last win and is likely to find this tough going.
Forecasts
King Spirit (7/2), Nightfly (4/1), Jackthejourneyman (6/1), Truckers Highway (7/1), Diamond Rock (7/1), Myroundorurs (8/1), Walden Prince (14/1), Daveron (16/1), Bajardo (28/1), Accessallareas (50/1), Allow Dallow (50/1), Boxer Beat (66/1), River Purple (66/1)
This is not the deepest race despite the numbers. A market move for Walden Prince should be noted. Nightfly has been in excellent form of late and is sure to run well but may just find track and conditions on the sharp side. Truckers Highway will be a danger to all if he improves on the back of his recent run but we are going to take a chance on a return to form for MYROUNDORURS. Robin Dicken’s charge made promising comeback at Southwell recently and back on better ground today he can go well.
- Myroundorurs
- Nightfly
- Truckers Highway
