Impressive winner on second hurdles start at Wincanton (1m7½f, good to soft) two weeks ago. Penalty to carry today but did that well and every chance there is more to come.
Glimmer of ability so far in two bumpers and a novice hurdle at Bangor latest. Fell away there on rain softened ground and it may be that today's conditions are more to his liking. Top rider up for the first time but needs to do better.

Two moderate bumper efforts last year. Type to do better with experience and makes hurdling debut today having been off the track for eight months.

Much improved effort on second hurdles start at Market Rasen (2m½f, good) two weeks ago. Shaped there as though a bit further will help so not convinced about this tight track suiting. Should be more improvement to come with time however. Hood on.

Related to Kauto Star but clearly has nothing like his ability. Down the field in a couple of bumpers at the back end of 2017. Yard were going through a quiet spell back then though so would be no surprise to see a better showing now tacking hurdles

Has struggled somewhat over hurdles so far and a little surprising to see them persevere in this company. Will be much better suited handicaps and likely to struggle once more.

Promise on bumper debut four weeks ago. Goes over obstacles for the first time today and whilst improvement is likely. Maybe she will need a bit further in time. Each way shout nonetheless.

Shown very little to date in two bumper starts and will need to take a good step forward for this hurdling debut to trouble a couple of these.

Forecasts

Diamond Guy (1/4), Djarkevi (4/1), Baby Ted (6/1), Duc Kauto (7/1), Darlyn (25/1), Cold Weston (25/1), Blackjacktennessee (100/1), Nellemani (100/1)

Verdict

Darlyn certainly has the potential to improve with time although this trip and track maybe on the sharp side for now. Any kind of market confidence behind Duc Kauto should be taken seriously as the yard were having a quiet spell during his runs in bumpers. DIAMOND GUY won really well though at Wincanton and is likely to be very tough to beat once again despite his penalty.
  1. Diamond Guy
  2. Duc Kauto
  3. Darlyn
