His losing run continues to mount although he did finish a good second on the AW last time out over this trip. Looks to have dropped to a good mark but isn't straightforward and does need everything to drop right in his races.
Shaped better than her final position and distance that she was beaten on her latest start on the AW. She does remain 10lb above her last winning mark though but should be sharper this time around and one to watch in the market.
Had an ideal scenario to record his first win since his juvenile days at Sandown last summer off a career-low mark. Profile since then has been rather undulating and he's not the easiest to win with; poorly drawn on his seasonal return at Newbury.
Took a step forward on his first run for this stable at the end of last season when finishing midfield at Newmarket. Now gelded and rested he has a good record fresh (runs off last winning mark); dangerous with run of race.
Has to be respected if he's back in form although that is not a given and he's now back in blinkers with a tongue-tie on for the first time. Losing run now stands at 16 but champion apprentice booked and worth a market check.
Needs an end-to-end gallop to be seen at his best but his stable do appear to be showing better form now and if gets that scenario he has the ideal rider on board. A C&D winner he's back below his last winning mark but no great record fresh.
Took advantage of a drop in the weights to land an Ascot handicap last year over 7f (came from way off the pace). Ran well on a couple of occasions after that in races that didn't pan out; disappointing when last seen though in an AW claimer.
Yard in good form (won with last four runners) although this one was a little below-par on her only handicap start so far. Struggled to win her maiden when odds-on so may not be as good as the market had suggested; hard to write off on one handicap.
Forecasts
First Selection (5/2), Considered Opinion (9/2), Medburn Dream (5/1), Tai Hang Dragon (13/2), First Flight (15/2), Wind In My Sails (8/1), Fox Trotter (8/1), Cricklewood Green (25/1)
The best race on the card in terms of quality there are a few in here that need the race run to suit and MEDBURN DREAM may be able to dictate off the front; he has a good record fresh and features off a good mark. First Selection is a class act at this level but the suspicion remains that he needs everything to drop right for him and he’s not an easy ride. First Flight is dangerous off this sort of mark if he puts everything together while better can be expected from Tai Hang Dragon after a her good comeback run.
