Makes his chasing debut for an in-form yard having shown solid form in his last two hurdles starts. Looks up to coping with this mark and more than at home over this trip.

Joueur Bresilienp124
Age: 6|  Weight: 12-2| J: Adam Wedge| T: Miss R Curtis| OR:  121

Lightly-raced sort who has shown aptitude over fences in three attempts although he was a little disappointing last time. Best run in this sphere came on good ground and may appreciate a return to this surface.

I See You Well29

Looked to be heading in the right direction over fences when last seen over them at the end of last year. Back over hurdles for his last four starts he looks on a handy mark here and will enjoy the better conditions underfoot.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-10| J: R Patrick(5)| T: Kerry Lee| OR:  115

Showed useful form over hurdles when with Gordon Elliott but hasn't for the most part lived to that level over fences. Ran poorly on his first start for this yard (pulled-up) and this trip looks on the sharp side.

Le Precieux17

Ran better than his finishing position suggested over hurdles last time (raced freely) but did looking vulnerable in a finish. Tailed off on his only try over fences before (in France) but mark is starting to look workable again.

Hargam100
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-10| J: R P McLernon| T: J & S Quinn| OR:  115| D
7/2
Becoming a light of former years (was a useful hurdler) and hasn't really taken to chasing despite falling to a lenient mark and well below-par last time. Can race lazily and looks one to be a little wary of despite the attractive mark.

All Is Good11
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-7| J: C Poste| T: R Dickin| OR:  112| BF| D
7/1
Had been in a good run of form over hurdles winning at Hereford and running just as well next time out at Ludlow (4th). Below-par last time (raced to close to a strong pace) and now goes chasing for the first time; strong traveller.

Free Stone Hillt51
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-7| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR:  112| D
7/2
Returned to fences last time and ran better than expected given the soft conditions. Yet to win over fences but does hail from an in-form/top yard and this better ground is expected to suit.

Sea's Aria116
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-6| J: Brendan Powell| T: M R Hoad| OR:  111| D
50/1
Did show some reasonable chasing form when trained in Ireland (not the most fluent of jumpers though) but has yet to run over obstacles for this yard. Has shown his best form on good ground and may be competitive off this mark.

Horse silk
Windspielt101
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-1| J: Harry Bannister| T: D W P Arbuthnot| OR:  92
20/1
Very little impact in handicap hurdles last winter with his best form coming over 2m. Now goes chasing for the first time off a career-low mark.

Forecasts

Hargam (7/2), Free Stone Hill (7/2), I See You Well (5/1), Joueur Bresilien (13/2), All Is Good (7/1), Asum (8/1), Everyday Everyhour (10/1), Le Precieux (14/1), Windspiel (20/1), Sea's Aria (50/1)

Verdict

With the Dan Skelton yard in such positive form at the moment Freestone Hill who ran a lot better over fences last time despite the soft surface may be able to take another step forward on better ground. I See You Well is a similar sort who may well enjoy the underfoot conditions much better as he returns to the larger obstacles. All Is Good is an interesting chasing debutante from a yard who know how to handle their chasers but ASUM looks the one to side with here on his chasing debut. He was in good form over hurdles when last seen and this mark looks one that he can cope with. Hargam is thrown in on the basis of his hurdles form but so far he’s looked far from in love with chasing.
