Probably needs further than this and he will be wanting conditions to dry out. It is feasible that connections are considering more positive tactics at this trip after racing too keenly last time.

Has won both his starts this term without looking a straightforward ride. Takes a big step up in class but his in-form yard have a 2-3 record in this race.

Very impressive in winning the Super Sprint at Newbury and he receives a useful allowance from his main rivals. Won't mind any juice left in the ground and he should be cherry ripe after two AW runs for his in-form yard.

Landed a small race at Pontefract in the autumn when giving the impression he wants 6f+. In a hot race on his return and he may lack the pace to lie up with his main rivals.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: Kevin Lundie| T: L Williamson| OR:  78| D

Consistent sort but he has a lot to find on official ratings and he is conceding a fitness advantage.

Meerpat71
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-1| J: Rossa Ryan| T: J Ward
25/1
Has taken well to AW racing this winter, but this is much harder than anything she has been asked to do and she needs to show she can handle a slower surface.

Forecasts

Bengali Boys (6/4), Savalas (15/8), Lake Volta (7/2), Jonboy (12/1), Meerpat (25/1), Brandy Station (100/1)

Verdict

Kevin Ryan has had two winners and one placed from three runners in this contest so Savalas has to be respected. However on official ratings BENGALI BOYS has a few pounds in hand and will not mind whatever underfoot conditions prevail on Sunday. Lake Volta was very keen on his last start and he tackles 5f for the first time. He may try and make all, but on these terms the selection should have his measure.
  1. Bengali Boys
  2. Lake Volta
  3. Savalas
